Whistler apparently Out of Business

strange the article says they been in business for 10 years.  I have one of there hand scanners and bought it in 2006..  Pretty decent scanner..

Appears they are gone, but roomer on my old Radar Detector forum is that someone bought them and will be back in January.

Anyone else following the story that Whistler is supposedly back in business? They were apparently purchased in January by a Goliad Products, LLC. The legitimacy of the business is being questioned by some. National Communications Magazine apparently wrote an article on it, which I have not seen. There is also a contentious debate about it on Reddit.

Local club members were discussing this the other day. It seems like the prices of scanners has jumped by an average of $100 since the new company took over. And there are questions about the ability get firmware updates.
