Hi all.  Scott (WSGF688) here in central Texas.  New to GMRS and only experience with radios is from the Military.  Just got my license and have a TD-H3 and a GM-30 Plus and have been learning a lot.  I like the two radios, but I'm looking for a waterproof HT radio.  I'm looking at the new Wouxun KG-S88G Plus, but see it has a Kenwood 2-pin which is not waterproof.  (EDIT:  I would like to use a PTT/Mic.) I guess that's not a deal breaker as I could use liquid electrical tape on it.  My budget is around the same price as the Wouxun KG-S88G Plus.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

It has a two screw sealed cover over the Kenwood style Jack and another over the usbc port. No tape needed. I have the non plus version. I like it. It’s not Chirp compatible but it’s pretty easy to program front of radio.

Sorry, I forgot to say the connector is not waterproof if connected to a PTT or mic.

Yeah it seems easy enough to program.  I would really only be setting CTCSS/DCS tones for repeaters.  I'm still learning what everything does, I'm just glad connecting to a repeater is pretty straightforward.

I don’t have one but this radio seems to check the waterproof box, ip55 with microphone and ip68 without:

They make a waterproof mic that screws down to seal to the radio.
