Radioddity GM-30 PLUS only hears 1 side of the conversation

I have 2 GM-30 Plus radios that are doing this, and it's frustrating. I hear a call from our repeater, no problem. When someone answers, the green activity light will illuminate, but no audio. If I press P2 twice to cycle from channel A to B, and back to A I can hear the reply. You have to do the same thing to hear the reply again. This happens on all 3 of our repeaters. The DPL codes are all correct. My mobile radios and DB-30 (non Plus) all hear everything just fine, it's just the DB-30 Plus radios acting like this.

you "hear a call from our repeater, no problem" - so, the radios are receiving the repeater, but then when someone replies, which is no different from "a call", you dont hear it?

This makes no sense to me as explained - please elaborate, and remove the RX tone and tell us what happens.

Yeah somethings up likely something is misprogrammed. . How did you program the radios with the native software? Chirp? On the radio itself? I would start with, as @OffRoaderX mentioned, removing all receive tones. It sounds almost like there is competing receive tones like there is a DCS and CTCSS receive tone both programmed and the radio doesn't know which one to use, I've seen this on a Retivus radio before, they came with pre-programmed DCS receive tones (no idea why) I didn't notice, and allowed you to add a CTCSS tone and then you hear nothing. But the radiooddity may be switching back and forth between them.

 

@WRXC445 Please pay no attention to the town drunk @Socalgmrs. Consider it the random mumbling of a drunk while defecating in front of your building. It's just another example of negative Nancy dissing radios he knows nothing about, I think he's dissed every brand on the market. Because he never says which Chinese GMRS radio he does prefer so we can all run out and get it so we no longer have to subject ourselves to these what he says are these worthless Midland,Radioddity, Baofang,Tidradio,Wouxun,Retivus,Btech,Rocky radios he hates so much. Oh wait, that pretty much just leaves illegal to use on GMRS Motorola or Icom or Kenwood .

I turned "Dual Standby" OFF and now it's back to how it should be.
