A mag mount Midland ghost antenna may be the best bet. You can move it easily or it will get nocked off vs breaking. And you can buy 4-5 of them for the price of a heavy duty one. 

 

You can get creative with placement depending on the skid steer as well.

I regret to say I haven’t mounted it yet, but will start with a ghost antennae.
