    Offline Use

this site does not HTML 'loop' it's data so the new version of Excel offers some nifty data swiping tools (Data Transform Import). With a little VBN code you can get & sort almost all data with minimal hassle for offline use. Excel will even format KML tables for you..
  3. not a good idea here in Calif... Too damn hot and dry
  4. its a $2500 fine here but now one cares..
  5. For the most part our police let people be unless there were complaints. And according to the scanner there were very few complaints. Didn't hear any EMS calls for fireworks related injuries either, so that always nice. The one day all states should allow it is July 4th. It's definitely a reason to celebrate.
  6. A lot of police patrols were out trying to catch people using them
  7. Had a quiet 4th because here where I am at we passed an Ordnance that anyone gets caught with or using illegal fireworks there will be an $1,000 fine that's why it was quiet all night.
  8. one of my RV friends struggles with the ghost antenna when trying to talk to traffic behind him when he is pulling his 5th wheel. His is mounted on his truck roof about 3 inches in front of his third brake light. It works pretty good to the front where there is no blockage or line of site. I have a midland whip mounted on the roof and don't have those same issues..
  9. lol, this would work too! (shoot for 30 1/2")
  10. In recent years we have had a couple of people get in from the Wilkes Barre area, Selingsgrove and up near Tioga County. Where else have people been able to get into the Williamsport 675?
  11. I appreciate your reply. Thank you
  12. Some radios allow “selective calling” where you can send a code to one specific radio and it will listen while other radios ignore you.
  13. Can anyone tell me what we would use this programming screen for inside CHIRP ? Can you give an example and purpose
  14. With both of these two antennae, I am able to hit a GMRS Repeater on Mt Lemmon near Tucson from Sun City West that is northwest of Phoenix. The air miles between the two points is at least 110 miles. The Larsen Glass-mount antenna is connected to a Motorola XTL5000 remote with 48 watts and the Laird Phantom is connected to a Motorola XPR5550e with 44 watts.
  15. What's on your mind?
  16. 7pm - Club Coms - Coms will be held at 7pm on the repeater. Join in if you are able, hope to hear from everyone.
  17. Funny story (since the statute of limitations has long expired) - in the mid-1980's a fellow ham and I drove his lemon yellow Vista wagon (think "That 70's Show") to Ohio, which was the closest place to buy legal fireworks at the time. We picked up an entire car full of commercial-grade ones (packed to above the window lines), put some blankets over them and drove back to New Jersey. Just after crossing the Delaware River back into NJ, the car conked out (again, think "That 70's Show"). We had a bag phone and called for a tow to bring us the whole 60 miles back to Wyckoff, NJ. We kept getting "helpful" police pulling over and asking us if we needed help, and we were "Nope - all good - called for a tow" and showed them (newfangled at the time) Mobira bag phone to distract them. The tow truck finally came and brought us to Wyckoff. We paid the tow truck driver and let him take whatever he wanted of the fireworks as a tip. We had enough to last several years. The second year, 2 friends and I went in a windowless van to see the official Holmdel (near Bell Labs) fireworks show. We thought the official show was pretty lame, and had a van full of fireworks, so... we set up our own show behind the bleachers. The people putting on the official show began to notice that people in the bleachers were looking behind the bleachers at our better show, and eventually some burly guards came strolling over. We packed up everything into the van and took off back to the house in Holmdel. As we were driving away, I remarked to my two friends that "I just realized I've become the person my parents warned me about".
  18. I have been able to make contacts on the KCARC-Gold MT repeater 462.6000 (RPT-03) on my radio. Now when I press the PPT it does not TX. On other channel when I press PPT, it stays in TX mode and when I release the key I can RX or if a repeater I get get the response. I cannot see where I might have made a change in the set up.
  19. It seems like this year everyone buying illegal fireworks got a buy 1 get 50 free deal. All night last night and thru most of the day.. Boom Boom Boom.. Less aerial flashy stuff but a lot of a aerial booms this year..

  21. LMR Services certified transmitters do not have to be certified for Part 95 services in order to be legally used on Part 95 freqs. Part 95.335(a) allows the use of LMR transmitters on Part 95 services providing that the user operates that LMR transmitter in accordance with the Part 95 rules and regs insofar as freq tolerance, power output, bandwidth, etc. The use of my Motorola radios on GMRS freqs is totally legal if I do not exceed the power and frequency limitations described in Part 95, subpart E, and they don't need to be Part 95 certified.
  22. Happy 4th of July WEEKEND!!! Saw my town fireworks display a week ago when they hold the fair. Went to my BILs for the 4th and my sisters for the 5th for outdoor parties. Great weather both days. Did work for 2 hours on the 4th because.. It's just Friday. Let the fireworks fly.
  23. Thank you very much!!
  24. Ah! Thanks
