  1. Why go to all that trouble? You have to be within range of their GMRS radio to hear them, and they have to be within range of your 2M to hear you. If you try to accomplish this through someone's repeater in either or both directions, you'll probably incur the wrath of the owner(s) quite promptly. Like Bill suggests, just use GMRS to communicate with your family members and be done with it.

    That would technically not be allowed, but begs the question as to why bother? Just call them on GMRS to begin with.

  3. Actually, if you look up Part 95J it actually states that grandfathered licenses (that are still active) are to be given priority on the dots. Also where the clause about radios presaging the creation of the service being able to operate on the service. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
