  1. That spider beam pole and the ed fong roll up j pole look like an amazing combo.
  2. I have a custom lithium battery bank built that is 13.8 volts. The ed fong roll antenna sounds good. i like the idea of throwing a string and pulling it up in a tree. But if in desert i wonder how to mount it to self. I was leaning towards a 1/2 wave whip.
  3. Hello all. I am working on a project and would like your input. I want to build a radio in a bag that will be base station at home and disconnected from home antenna taken to vehicle and connected to its antenna taken into wilderness disconnected and put on back. The radio is a Btech 50v2. the thing im having a a hard time deciding on is the antenna for the pack in the wilderness. any suggestions. i will post pics as pieces arrive and i start the build.
  4. Thank you all for your suggestions. The flag pole idea has me thinking about codes and permits. Flag pole would probably be an easier sell.
  5. Tram 1486 ordered thank you for the help. Searching deals on towers now.
  6. I plan to use chimney strap and 5 foot pole to mount it. At least until I decide to bite the bullet on a tower. Thank you for your input. By the way I love you videos. I watch them instead of working some days
  7. I'm new to GMRS and have found myself overwhelmed while researching antennas. I have chosen midland mxta26 for my mobile setup. Would that be fine for base station or should I do one of the longer fiberglass ones? Any help in this would be appreciated. Any questions I haven't thought about would also be appreciated.
