  1. Hello folks. I want to bounce this conversation off folks who, may have, additional opinions. I am currently a member of SWCRS here in New Mexico. I am also live Vanlifer. For those that do not know, I live in my van full time and travel. Currently I travel in the State of New Mexico. I am based in Santa Fe, NM only because this is where I have all my doctors and a mail service. Though I do not spend more than a week at a time in Santa Fe if I can help it. During our nets, our call-ins record our Call ID, Name, and Location. our net has me recorded as being in Santa Fe, this is also what I declared when I signed up with SWCRS. but, being that my location is constantly on to the move, how would you report yourself during Nets and general communications? looking for opinions on how I should proceed.
  2. Will the Shop be added, or a direct link to the shop? I would prefer direct integration with the app. I am on both IOS and Android.
  3. Greetings folks. I hope y'all are well. As with the SDR discussion a couple Wednesdays back, I have to ask the folks using SDR hardware and software for scanning. What SDR software are folks using? Which one(s) would you recommend? Sure I have done my Google search homework, and have found well over 40 solutions available over several operating systems, but this does not narrow down choices, based on user information. Platform is irrelevant I have been using SDR Touch Android app for several years, but this app is not available for chrome books, Linux distros, or Windows. I am currently seeing what works with Chromebook. I am like a kid in a candy store testing and seeing what works. (ignore the geek out) On my Chromebook, I am using ChromeOS and have Linux Bullseye (Debian) running in a virtual environment. Many Android apps are available with sideloading as an option. Intel 64-bit system. So let me know folks, I appreciate the input and recommendations. If anyone has questions regarding SDR, I am more than happy to answer questions with my limited knowlede Apologies for the really bad copy and paste
  4. Greetings folks. I have a question for the folks with more knowledge and experience than I. In my vehicle. I have a couple of pieces of radio equipment. Suggested power input is 13.6v to 13.8v. I have both engine power and solar/Lifepo to work with. Issues; As we already know; engine power is variable in most vehicles. Even more so with down step alternators in today’s vehicles. When alternator is operating, getting 13.8 to 14.6 volts is easy. Once engine is off, we are left at the mercy of most batteries, bleeding charge down to 12.2v or lower over time. With Solar; In light I charge up to 14.2v. At night my Lithium batteries maintain 13.2 to 13.0 Volts (depending on length of night). So once again this voltage is variable between 13.0 to 14.2 volts. So enough of the word vomit. What have folks done to regulate voltage around the 13.6 voltage range? I have seen folks who simply use cheap voltage regulators/inverters. But I have concerns about dirty power, especially as from time to time the construction is questionable, creating a number of radio issues. So I am curious as to what other solutions are available/recommended, or would a cheap voltage regulator/inverter be sufficient? Looking forward to input Thanks folks.
