  1. @WSAF467 If you can give us a little more detail on where you are having trouble, we may be able to help you. Otherwise we can only take a shot in the dark as to what the problem it.
  2. @WSCK857 Welcome to GMRS.
  3. They do use both digital and analog tones. So, yes, D026 will work on a Baofeng.
  4. Seems like they would be fine in China. That's where most of the come from anyway.
  5. On mine, I know that High power is actually High power because it is the only power setting that will hit the Channelview repeater from my house. Now, whether or not Low and Medium are reversed, I haven't done anything to verify that yet.
  6. @WRYS709 the ham version just might be my next purchase.
  7. @WRDJ205 Please post a screenshot of your Chirp settings. Thanks.
  8. @WRTC971 Welcome to GMRS.
  9. My bet is on the offset but, yes, any one of those could be the problem.
  10. @WRXR255 most GMRS radios have the offset baked in on the repeater channels.
  11. @WRDJ205 How did you get it to display the version? Thanks.

    Gmrs zello

I've seen it done via a repeater linked to Zello. @OffRoaderX had a setup like that but I think he unlinked everything.
  13. It's probably fine. People link to videos and other stuff all the time.
  14. Who owns the repeater? Maybe they can help.
  15. If you don't have very many channels you are trying to program then yes, it is probably simpler than using chirp. However, if you are trying to program lots of channels in multiple different radios, then it's chirp for the win.
  16. There are also 701G antennas. Better than a lot of stock antennas but not as long as the 771. Nagoya and Abbree both make a 771G but only Nagoya makes a 701G so far. They both make the 771 UV and 701 UV. I've tried both of those on a UV-5R GMRS and they both worked quite well. No doubt the G version will work better.
  17. Seems like I've heard Randy and Josh both mention this. I think one of them said that many radios are even tested this way at the factory.
  18. @WRDJ205 I'm at work and left the radio at home so I haven't been able to do anything yet. I will as soon as I can and let you know the results.
  19. @WRDJ205 what firmware version do you have?

    New to radio

@nokones they have GMRS versions of the UV-5R now.
  21. @WSBU687 try Texas GMRS.net. There are repeaters listed there that are in your area that usually have traffic.
