  1. Your response? Man, don't worry about that. You know these interactions of these type forums can easily get misconscrewed. It's all good. Anyway I was asking about your meter. It's reading SWR or watts? I can see watts but what does that mean in performance of the repeater?
  2. No problem. I would never lower myself to joining this forum if I were a HAM. It would probably feel like hanging out with high schoolers, while in your early twenties.
  3. I'm NOT a ham. That's why I'm on a gmrs forum asking questions.
  4. I see. I live in relatively flat country, along the coast. So I went with the GMRS pre-tuned Ed Fong. Any experience with that brand/antenna?
  5. That's clear as mud. One better know ham talk if you're going be on a gmrs forum. Too funny. So the "bird" is what type of meter?
  6. Break this down (radio jargon) for this lowly non-ham. What am I seeing?
  7. I'm looking for a build that is more permanent. I'm sure these units have their place. But looking into something more powerful.
  8. sounds cool Oh, you're talking about the small suitcase style repeater kits?
  9. ok, I'll check them out. Can you give me the Midland models? Any reason the external port is important? Laymens terms.
  10. I believe it is the Ultraflex. Whichever Mr. Grindr recommend on his affiliate link.
  11. Thank you sir. Is there such animal as a repeater unit with a built-in duplexer?
  12. I know you're about tired of this thread as much as I am. But wanted to answer this. It's 50' of Messi & Paoloni LMR400
  13. I'm asking you. I see your name pop up all the time, no matter what the topic. With you being a ham on a gmrs forum....what makes his system work so well?
  14. Shannon. From your experience with repeaters, ham license and your degrees.....does this man's set work?
  15. DANG!!! That's what I want! Hard facts.
  16. You may not but there's folk that do here. Those who have a ham license yet that's not enough...they feel they need to come here and complainant things with their knowledge, you see them on every thread, yet don't even have a gmrs repeater (not even entry level like those suitcase styles.... it's crazy.)
  17. I get that. I like rocketry too. Done it as a kid. Good times. My question is why waste your time on this lowly gmrs forum? Your ham license gives you way more of the RF spectrum then this simple UHF spectrum.
  18. Sounds awesome. I like the BN. Really? No GMRS in your area? You sound overqualified to be on an GMRS forum. Any reason you're a major contributor here?
  19. Just tell me your set up. How are you currently communicating to the GMRS community in your area?
  20. Although his knowledge sounds legit and much appreciated. Shannon didn't say what kind of retired engineer ...maybe a train engineer idk.
  21. When you get time. Give me your break down on your repeater set up. Radio(s), Cables, Duplexer, Tower, Antenna(s).... everything please. If I can't figure this out, I'll just copy. Lol. Thanks
  22. Lol. I won't. It'll be too much BS.
  23. Got it. Thanks. I may start another tech topic on jumpers that are used with folks who have repeater stations....that such be interesting.
  24. Send me a link where I can buy these LMR400 two foot cables. Thx
