  1. I do reach out to whoever is listening...but give my call sign first.
  2. Offroader. I never got that link you keep promoting. Call me tomorrow....786-516-1709. Ask for James.
  3. No need to google it, the man surely has a link to it.
  4. What’s this app you keep promoting? Got a link?
  5. Good grief. Why even buy license then? Then to have some inbr*eds use the same channels to act a fool to interfere with repeater channels? Looks like this hobby is made for people who are fortunate enough to bring your own audience or enough repeaters and users to have a RX PL tone. But for folks just wanting to make contact and repeater discovery, guess we're stuck with CB 2.0.
  6. Even the higher watt channels gmrs 15-22?
  7. But I run the repeater channels on scan daily because I want to listen out for new repeaters. If I put a RX tone on the channel the deplorable is on, I limit myself for discovery on that channel, right?
  8. I would. But from what I understand.....PL tones do nothing to what the radio hears. Thanks
  9. Great idea and would like to see that happen. But gmrs isn't popular here. It sucks just for me. lol
  10. Exactly. No need to report it....was just wondering what I can do about it....and you answered that. Thanks
  11. That ain't going to happen here! Great video though.
  12. Just as I stated....the deplorable is violating https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-47/chapter-I/subchapter-D/part-95/subpart-E 95.1733 (A) (4) But it's not interfering with a "station" so I'm screwed.
  13. I know. But I enjoy scanning the repeater channels...just in case. But I get it.
  14. Unfortunately I'm in a county where no licensed GMRS users are daily monitoring, and it only bothers me. lol
  15. 95.1733 Prohibited GMRS uses. 95.1733 (a) says GMRS stations must not.... If someone is "actin' a fool" (clearly a grown adult) on a GMRS simplex channel 15. Looks like there's nothing that can done to enforced such, because it's not involving a repeater station....jamming. It's a shame there's folks out there like this, much less the ability to have offspring. But really....there's nothing can stop unlicensed? Really? WRXU693
  16. I can confirm that and it sucks. I don't want NOAA on there.
  17. You’re fine. You’ve answered or been involved with most of my questions in the past….for the good. Appreciate it. Just seems things get a little too technical for every day normal folks with no radio background here. But it’s all good. Have a great day.
  18. Thanks man. Don't worry about if you missed anything. That's plenty of reading material for just a guy who wanted to know if a repeater, at the same location, will interfere with his Base/ (now) Control setup. WRXU693
  19. "If you read the regulations you’ll find references to several different types of stations." I'll do that.
  20. I'm aware that. Just trying to get answers....not concerned about the way quotes appear. Thanks though.
  21. Yeah, terminology matters. I've just never heard folks calling their shack or radio room set up as a control station, only base stations..... learning something new every day. Regardless. Yes, my radio can either hear someone on a simplex channel and I can talk to them, if they're close enough.....that's what you're calling a base station. Or I can scan the repeater channels and break squelch on a distant repeater and have a conversation...that's what you're calling a control station. Interesting
  22. "you could just put in a larger and higher power repeater using the existing antenna & line that you've already got in place, and then plug a mic into the repeater so you could use it as a dispatch point." Interesting. So a dispatch point and a base station the same thing? I was told about three months ago that I can not use a repeater station as a base station.....idk. shm. Thanks WRXU693
  23. I guess my biggest question is "why?" Maybe I was a little too vague. I'm very happy with my base setup. I can hit repeaters from 50+ miles away. But my county is repeater poor and I want to promote gmrs here. So that's why I'm asking about a potential repeater and existing base antenna working together or not. Thanks WRXU693
  24. This radio jargon throws me again. Explain what lag means.
