  1. Oh.
  2. When you get time. Give me your break down on your repeater set up. Radio(s), Cables, Duplexer, Tower, Antenna(s).... everything please. If I can't figure this out, I'll just copy. Lol. Thanks
  3. Lol. I won't. It'll be too much BS.
  4. Got it. Thanks. I may start another tech topic on jumpers that are used with folks who have repeater stations....that such be interesting.
  5. Send me a link where I can buy these LMR400 two foot cables. Thx
  6. There are 90 degree manufactured connectors on these cables to help the flow of wire to the duplexer. Who uses LMR400 as jumpers?
  7. Brother. I appreciate it. But I've already gave the manufactures origin. Brand name, Length and type of cable.....
  8. Well, I've posted SWR readings from 3 out of 4 recommended connections points. I don't know what else I can say.
  9. That length? 24"? Too close? Or does that matter?
  10. They are 2' jumpers. RG-58A/U
  11. Any other recommendations besides buying a "cheap" $1800 duplexer?
  12. Well, good to know the jumpers weren't the issue.
  13. No, they weren't long, just long enough to reach the duplexer...nothing excessive. Yeah the cables are made in China "Superbat" brand.... but what isn't these days
  14. No bud. It's just too difficult with way too many variables without having someone that can physically look at what's going on and unfortunately gmrs hasn't caught on yet in my county.
  15. Hey Shannon, Thank you the follow up questions and trying to figure out what's going on here. But I'm going back to having a base station with one radio and a mobile radio in the truck. I got more enjoyment out of that. Maybe someone will built a gmrs repeater in my area who has the knowledge and know-how for such. Thanks again WRXU693
  16. that's what it read.
  17. "see what the power is at each point"... Right at the antenna connector on the TX radio. 48w At the end of the TX cable where it connects to the duplexer. 18w At the duplexer antenna output before the cable. 20watts At the antenna end of the coax. Can't, it's 40' above ground. "I can’t diagnose it if it’s not really what you’ll be using." Yes, I'm testing the same equipment, Coax, duplexer and antenna I'll be using.
  18. Yeah, this is just a hobbyist meter. Nothing high end. It's not going to tell me effects of coax cable. Yes, I'm using short jumper where needed during the testing. So, your diagnoses?
  19. Radio to Surecom to dummy load. SWR 1.1 Watts 48 Radio to duplexer to Surecom to dummy load. SWR 1.0 Watts 18 Radio to duplexer to Surecom to LMR400 to Ed Fong antenna. SWR 3.0 (sucks) / Watts 20
  20. With a Surecom SW-102. Between the antenna and the duplexer. Yes, measurements obtained while transmitting.
  21. Well, my son is home today and I'm on vacation so that gave me the opportunity to do a field test. Him in the shack and me on a HT down the road. Good news is that the repeater set up seems to be working but the bad news the duplexer robbed most of the watts from the radio (50w) and the SWR is not ideal.
  22. Here's the specs.
  23. Using 2 KG-1000G+'s. The very good video set up from BTWR is focused on the 1000G. But the 1000G+ is a little different.
  24. Thanks. I'm doing some testing with an HT about 1/4 mile down the road, clear line of sight. The repeater has the travel tone PL RX/TX and the HT has the same PL. Yet I don't hear the "kerchunk" on the HT. Any ideas?
  25. My OCD kicked in on this GMRS repeater project. Is MY labeling correct on this duplexer? Thx WRXU693
