  1. I used to do the same thing on the 800mhz, some of things you would hear were quite funny.
  2. Well if your in Wyoming that's good, Me to. With my Boafengs i can get from ClydePark to about ByronCenter, sometimes farther depending on what ever is in the way. When i get a chance I will get with you and we'll do some checking to see if it's you or your buddy with the problem. But I can't at the moment, maybe in a week or so I'll have time. If you figure it out sooner let me know.
  3. Exactly what city are you in "about" ? I'm in GR. lot's of tree's here so range is somewhat inhibited but with 45watts you should be doing better then 1-3 miles. Definitely need to make sure that your power is getting out. I get that range with my 5watt Boafengs.
  4. Just to put this out there. If you purchased a Baofeng handheld GMRS radio and want to program it using software, use the new CHIRP_NEXT software, it works so much better with Baofeng Radio's. Also make sure you have the right Prolific Driver installed. Hope this helps Links below Chirp_NEXT https://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/download?stream=next Prolific https://www.miklor.com/COM/software/P3200.zip Also Randy has a great video for programing here
  5. Yes I have the Radio. if you unlock the radio you can enter all the GMRS channels the same as a GMRS setup, then continue to add your Repeaters with different CTC tones for your different Repeaters that you use. Just don't go outside of the GMRS freq's to keep yourself legit, well kind of. Like Sshannon said.
  6. Just add your new repeater channels above channel 30 then add them to your scannable channels. I use Names like Smplx1,2,3,etc Rptr 23,24,25 etc
  7. Well I have tried that to, I'll try what you said and wait to here something or someone you might say. Thanks for your help Sshannon and if you have any other ideas let me know. Thx

  10. I am some what new to GMRS but not to functionality of radios, We have a Repeater here in GR and can't seem to hit this thing, I even drove up to within .3 miles of the thing to no avail not even chirp out of this thing. It's on Ch R26 462.625 and using 94.8 tone/ctc and I have tried 3 different radio's. Ether it's not working/down or just not there. Anyone out there in the GR area have any idea about the workings of this repeater please let me know.
  11. Hello Newbi here Is there a way to connect 2 DB20-g's together through the mic port to use them as a repeater? Can the wiring be reconfigured using a patch cable to activate the TX to transmit from the RX radio, along with the speaker to mic connections? Or would this need a special controller in between to do the work?
