  1. Here is the image they provide on the product page showing the channel pairs used. They basically suggest using both the 600 and 725 repeater pairs as a means of setting this up, repeating to and from 600 and 725.
  2. You want your antenna to match the frequencies you're transmitting on as closely as possible. 154/430Mhz is the common VHF/UHF split for a dual band HAM antenna. It won't have good SWR on GMRS since it isn't tuned for the 462/467 range needed for GMRS. It may work, but it won't work well. You want to look for a GMRS specific antenna like this one:
  3. Nicely done - a huge improvement in group run communications! I helped our club migrate to GMRS a couple years ago and it was very well received. It is now a requirement for all club sanctioned events. We've got a thread detailing the change and the pros of GMRS, along with a rundown of our favorite and suggested gear to get folks started. I joke the radio is so you can hear good dad jokes on a long trip but we do a lot of training and guiding, so it really aids with instruction, direction, and safety. I can also run a separate channel on dual watch with the group and my tailgunner so we can talk logistics if need be.
  4. I am intrigued and will be following along! The intro video was a fun entrypoint. The T-Deck Plus looks like an awesome choice for self-contained meshtastic!
  5. I've seen a couple of these style 'base station' kits that let you mount your radio into a housing containing the power supply to make for a nice clean setup. This one is for an ICOM radio but I've seen them for other brands too. Any mobile radio should fit as long as the dimensions are the same! https://www.buytwowayradios.com/ict-cs120-20ag-ic04.html Goodluck and happy radioing!
  6. I'm an avid offroader / outdoorsman. I got into GMRS / radios in general as a result of the offroad sport. - 2006 Hummer H3 with an LS swap on 37s, custom locking front differential, manual shift NP241, sliders, armor, sleeping platform and cold seltzers. KG-1000G Plus remote mounted with an EM-Wave GPS/NMO combo mount and a Laird antenna. The mount replaced the old 2G sharkfin antenna. - GMRS 20/22/REPT-19/REPT-20 depending on the location, other group channels and which mobile repeater has been deployed. - I am a member / trainer / guide over at ExploringNH.com. We frequent local Class 6 Roads throughout the state of NH and Class 4 Roads throughout the state of VT. These 'trails' are simply un-maintained town-owned right-of-ways offering various levels of difficulty. Numerous private properties, including some NEA properties, as well as Jericho State Park in Berlin, NH.
  7. Sounds like a super clean install, also would like to see it! Check the attachments in your original post @dosw - it looks like you've attached files of some sort, but not photos so they are not showing up inline as pictures.
