  1. MyGMRS.com and RepeaterBook have conflicting listings. Does anyone know what's correct? (Attached App Screenshots)
  2. I'm looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings!
  3. The GMRS repeater owners in my area have been nice enough to cross-list on repeaterbook.com as well, and the phone app for that will provide distance from your phone's current location. But there's no maps on that app... Win some, lose some.
  4. Hand mic, 30 watts, lanyard, single channel... The antenna is a little funny looking though. Merry Christmas!!
  5. Yeah, I was going to suggest testing on a channel between 1-7 as well. Have people at various spots in and around the building. Assign each spot a number, and then have each spot count off over the radio. Hopefully every spot can hear every other spot.
  6. One, there's no such thing as a "private network" on GMRS. Two, have you tested the new radios on simplex (aka radio to radio)? You might not even need a repeater, which would only futher complicate things.
  7. I leave my RX tones off. I wouldn't want to accidently cause inference on the off chance someone is working simplex, or I'm in a location where I can pickup two different repeaters on the same frequency.
  8. Anyone happen to know the DB-20G power cord wire gauge size? I've successfully run the DB-20G off of a LiFePO4 battery pack using a "Power Cord Adapter" I built. One end is a female cigarette lighter, the other end a DC5521 female barrel connector, and there's a small bit of wire in between. I want to refine my DIY Adapter by matching the same wire gauge size as the DB-20G power cord.
  9. @LeoG I added a few more details on to what you posted... If you want to program repeater 462/467.650Mhz with a tone of 71.9Hz On the top "A" channel, go to Channel 27 - default channel for the repeater frequency pair of receive 462.650 Mhz with transmit 467.650 Mhz Press the blue button to open the Settings Menu Use the up and down arrows to go to Setting 13 Tx CTCSS Press the blue button to edit Setting 13 Use the up and down arrows to find 71.9 Hz Press the blue button to save the new Tx CTCSS Press the orange button to exit the Settings Menu And then like LeoG said, when you key up watch to see the frequency change from 462.650 to 467.650 and beside it go from OFF to CT
  10. I've tried a few times since it went up. I haven't had any luck, but that's no surprise due to my location. Maybe once the leaves fall?
  11. You could try a piece of kydex and drill a hole in one and and bend a hook into the other end. If you're not familiar with kydex, it's a thermo-plastic sheet that when heated is foldable, but at normal temperatures it solid.
  12. I change the radio transmit tones by: A+* to get into the Funnction Menu Using B/C to get to Menu 1 T-CTC UP/DN to choose a value D to save and exit menu I could make duplicates of each repeater pair, but that's not exactly what I'm trying to do. The scenario is I'm on vacation for a week, out of state, and I want to save that area's repeaters into say ch. 36 and 37. And to make it more complicated let's say they are on frequencies already saved in ch. 32 and 34 I think the simple answer is the change the tone on the default repeater channels and just live with it. Or be limited to channel 39.
  13. Yup, I was able to save one of the default repeater channels into 39, but 31-38 aren't an option through the radio menu. Talk about extra handicapped...
  14. Unfortunately those steps are for the Unlocked mode. Menus for setting the offset and direction don't exist in GMRS mode.
  15. Despite the lack-luster manual, I've managed to figure out my way around the menus using the hand-mic, and also how to load in custom repeaters through the OEM CPS / Chirp. BUT, what I haven't manage to figure out is how hand program in a custom repeater into Ch. 31-39 through the menus. Does anyone know, or could point me in the right direction? I'd like to know on the off chance I don't have a computer readily available.
