  1. It doesn't matter much cuss there is no one out there. GMRS is just like CB for me. I only made ONE (1) up/down contact so far.
  2. This dozer was featured in Popular Mechanics magazine. One could build it from plans, it's drive system was pullies and belts. Later the company that sold the plans started selling attachments and later dozer kits. Over the years the dozer got bigger. I was a member of a FB group for this mini dozer. Sorry for my English
  3. Explorer 240 I also use it with my 20 watt Ocean (no affiliate link) So BTech + Explorer 240 = Yes / No Ocean 20 watt + Explorer 240 = Yes / No
  4. It seems that I should of wired my radio right to the battery. Instead i use the cigar lighter and the radio only puts out 20 watts (YT reviewer of the radio said this). Buy what about when I plug it into my Jackery power devise? Is the radio still only putting out 20 watts?
  5. To; OffRoaderX: The stock antenna is 4.8245" (my 905G paperweight). And the Nagoya 771G is 15.3000". So is it build quality or length?
  6. As my contacts (you are 1 of 5) are so flu (covid pun), I thought of doing something with my 905 other then using it as a paperweight.
  7. As my contacts (you are 1 of 5) are so flu (covid pun), I thought of doing something with my 905 other then using it as a paperweight.
  8. As a Anytone 779 (re-badged Radioddity and Retevis included) can be jail break, switch back to HAM units. How would I do it with a Wouxun 905?
  9. Crestline shows that it's coverage is 3.2 miles and I'm out of there area. Club650 is in my area and mite be the repeater that i hear every afternoon and into the early evening. Just like they were sitting next to me. So as not being a troll, I guess that is it until next month. I do thank you for your help
  10. The repeater I hit today was VNC575 / Topanga, CA 462.575. I was just North of the Glendale business district. The upset fireman was from my very first contact, that being Mt Wilson 462.600. But what repeater is on Channel 27 RPT 19 also heard on GMRS channel 19? Thank You all for your help.
  11. My mobile is a 20 watt Ocean and a today I had a Ocean 905G with a adapter to a Nagoya GMRS tunes antenna. The repeaters that I try to hit each outing are MT Disappointment ( 462.600 ) , MT Harvard ( 462.625 ) , 725 Round Table ( 462.725 ) , Mt Wilson (462.600 ) mostly blocked by mountains if near home. VNC575 ( 462.575 ) hit this repeater today! I think part of my problem is that I'm to close to the base of the mountains.
  12. How about Mt Disappointment 462.600? 725 Round Table 462.725?
  13. Every weekend I try to hit 6 different repeater in my area with no luck. Today after putting a antenna adapter on my 905G I hit a repeater (2 repeaters and one live person contact) since getting into GMRS. After getting home I checked out this sites map and It seems that 5 repeaters that I have permission to use are well not there anymore. One repeater I know is to far away, it is kind of a bunch list item. But who are the folks I hear on channel 27 / RPT 19? Spill over onto GMRS channel 19
  14. As per the map this repeater is not longer in service.
  15. I did troubleshoot with the multimeter. The power supply worked (same power supply that comes with UV-5R's). But the base was not working. With the UV-5Rs the red light on the base comes on and after awhile it starts to flash red / green until the battery in fully charged. With the BTech base no power at the studs and no lights. The charging set up is almost a third of the price for a new V-2.
  16. I was able to hit the repeater on Mt Wilson (one of two contacts I have made since getting into GMRS). And got a rather upset fireman screaming that the repeater was only for fireman. My only other contact was with the NotARubicon guy who let me come on his Jeep outing. I do enjoy FRS (2 instead of 5/50).
  17. The radio that this post was about is called Rocky Talkie (no affiliate link). The one thing that draws me back to this radio is the silicon pocket that the radio slips into. While I'm not prove to dropping radios, the added protection of the silicone packet is worth noting.
  18. The charging cradle is not working, so my BTech V-1 is dead. Short of buying a new charging setup is there a way I can charge the radio?
  19. When I try to complete my profile I get a box asking for my Ham call sign. I try to pass over this and I'm back to the forums main page.
  20. I ordered one of those GMRS charts from BTWR (no affiliate link) and found it in my mail box today. The nice mailperson had folded it in thirds. The shipper had not put a "DO NOT FOLD" stamp or label on the folder or even put a bit of cardboard to protect the chart. I'm now going to step outside an SCREAM.
  21. Let me clarify my first statement. I didn't hear any traffic on any GMRS channel or repeater. So if I don't hear anybody on a GMRS channel there is no point in my making a request for HELP! As repeater step on channels 15-22 that met to me "no one was home". My antenna is a GMRS tuned mag mount Nagoya (sell check).
