  1. Ask as many questions as you have a need to do! The "bothered some" have too much time on their hands.
  2. Some GMRS repeaters are "linked" or have access through Zello. But in general, most GMRS repeaters are stand-alone. Are there more specifics for your question that you can share with us? See, also this thread: Linked GMRS Repeaters in CA?
  3. Apparently, if you join RadioReference.com for a short period of time, you download Railroad scanner frequencies in either pdf or csv formats: RadioReference Railroad download RadioReference.com Railroads Source page
  4. Try listening to 75 meters AM at night!
  5. Check out this thread and this article for some "mods" for the Twoer. I always wanted the Lawrence Engineering Superheterodyne modification but I have never been able to find one on eBay.
  6. On a similar note: I have my Radioddity RD-5R DMR setup for GMRS in addition to 2 meter and 70 cms DMR, in case the need arises.
  7. How much do you think that setup will cost; compared to the price of nodes selling online. You peaked my interest...
  8. No mountains in Indiana.
  9. KD4MOT: Some people just love to hear the sound of their own voice...
  10. Thank you for that information. And the purpose of one of these nodes? To be able to use your HT to communicate through repeaters that have an AllStar node? Or for Repeater owners to allow AllStar users to be able to access their repeater?
  11. I have no experience with the RT85, but I did buy my TYT TH-UV88 plus the high capacity battery from LetsGetReadyInc for a good price and no extra shipping fee. Just looking at your link; won't the two HTs desense each other, being so close?
  12. Yes, in my experience, the Anytone AT-779UV and the Radioddity DB20-G are interchangeable both as radios and programming software. Try changing, in the Model Information -> Model menu from 136-174/400-490 to 136-174/400-470, and see if that solves your problems. And power off, hold down V/M button, power on and what firmware version (for example at the bottom: V2.26) do you have? Are you also double clicking the >> at the end of each Channel listing to open up a box for Tones, etc.?
  13. Cincinatti? Aren't you in Palm Springs?
  14. @wayoverthereI'll give you a call as soon as the Net is over! UPDATE: No reply: I'll keep monitoring PAPA for you to call me: W7ML
  15. You're right! I didn't realize they added one up there. Can you hit it? PAPA 32: 442.600 I sent you a PM with the PL twice, but I am not sure it went through.
  16. Looks close to defamatory, to me...
  17. I wasn't aware of CARLA. I programmed in the Los Angeles repeater and can hit it cleanly, all the way to Santiago Peak. I gave a call for some information, but no reply. Interestingly, the JPL SoCal Repeater list for 440 shows it, but not as CARLA; but checking the Repeaters callsign on QRZ does confirm it for CARLA.
  18. Like 75 meter AM? ?
  19. Ouch! It's one thing to mod a $30 radio, but another a $220 one! ?
  20. LGR DUAL BAND MAGNET MOUNT ANTENNA W/SMA MALE 12' RG58 CABLE - $19.99 Set of 4 different BNC-SMA adapters - $7.00 (male/female permutations) Free shipping - LetsGetReady, Inc.
  21. Click on Repeaters, above. Be sure you are logged in as it sometimes requires a 2nd login. Go to your profile, upper right corner, and down to Edit Profile; Select Weekly Repeater Digest.
  22. Oh right: We just talked about sending donations to support BARN’s efforts!
  23. KERN System Oooops: That's Ham.
  24. The Blue Circle 2 is Pimple Hill 700
