Whoa, I grew up Rochester. My best friend was a police officer back in the late 90s, he then went to fly choppers for the state police. Small world.

Fun fact, pilots are required to have a "restricted radiotelephone license", it's free and it never expires. I'm a corporate pilot and new to GMRS, thinking of carrying my HT with me to mess with on my down time. Airlines are a different story though, they don't like anything they don't recognize, keep it off and hidden and no one will care.

Wouxun-BTECH wiring compatability

The Wouxun KG-1000G is back ordered so I got the BTECH 50x1 GMRS instead, which I'm going to install it in my Yukon. My question is when the Wouxun comes in can I simply unplug the BTECH and plug in the Wouxun? I realize the plugs themselves might be different but I want to avoid having to uninstall the wiring then reinstall the new wires. I'll then take the BTECH and put it in my Jeep, where I also have a Cobra 75 WX ST CB. Thank you

Can I assume then that the SWR should be tested after installation? If I'm testing the SWR for my Jeep setup I should do it after running the cable and installing the antenna in the intended location?
