OOPS!  I completely missed the welcome thread and just jumped right in.  Please forgive my fox paw😊.

I'm a retired water treatment consultant with too many hobbies so I need to add one more.  Radio wise, I started in the military, then used them in the ship building and oil industries.  Along the way I did the CB thing until it became populated with too many "individuals".

Outdoor wise, I've been a hunter/shooter and everything that goes with it since I was a kid in the fifties.  Got into off roading in the 80's when I bought my Jeep Scrambler.

That's enough stuff for now.

Welcome!

That's "SIR StevenShannon" to you.

Let me introduce myself - not because I go around introducing myself (that's pretty narcissistic isn't it?), but because it is the rule of the forum and I forgot to do it.

SO hello there!

Been a radio dork since about 1978 (Shortwave, CB, Ham, and most recently GMRS). Besides radios, I also own a Jeep JK, and like to visit my local gun range on occasion to blow the pocket lint out of the chamber so to speak.

Oh, I am also a notarubicon subscriber :) (an honor to be reprimanded by the queen himself!)

That's all for now!

Well, it's not a "real" Jeep like a CJ but since you visit the range I'll forgive you.

Guess I completely missed the welcome thread, too. Been around for a bit. Mostly lurking. Welcome everyone and hello. 😅

Been into monitoring and radio in general for what seems like forever. Scanning, shortwave, etc. GMRS late last year and amateur radio earlier this year. Was in broadcasting for awhile, too (mostly the 90s).

Hi, I'm Jackie. I've been a radio fan for years and have listened to scanners, shortwave and utility radio. I've also been an amateur radio operator for over 20 years but off the air for a good portion of that time due to antenna and space restrictions. I just got my GMRS license a couple of months ago; I thought it would be a good idea to add one more communication method to my collection. I can't have an outdoor antenna of any kind where I live so I'm using some handheld radios at the moment.

Welcome to our GMRS radio community, Jackie!

Howdy. I've been around here for many years. I know I've made posts years back, but looks like I got to start over.

West Central MT, here.

Welcome back.  If you could find one of your old posts maybe Rich could reconnect you to your old account.  Was it under a different call sign?
