Cancel a repeater request

Is there a way to cancel a repeater request on mygmrs.com ? I am new to GMRS and would like to remove my request since it has been about a month without any response.

As far as I know... no.

Question is, why would you want to remove it? If the repeater owner some day decided to check their requests and answer, then you would finally get what you were asking for. If they don't ever answer, well, nothing has changed one way or another.

I understand and agree that it would be nice to clear it so you don't even have to look at it again, and I'm not sure why it isn't an option. But I guess it lets you keep track of repeaters you never have to bother asking permission for eveyr again because it seems no one is answering it anyway.

Maybe send another message to the repeater owner asking for your request for access be cancelled.

I have a request that has been sitting for months.  It's still there even after the owner removed the repeater from the listings.  LOL

Don't worry about it... registering is not mandatory nor is un-regestering..

The system will not allow you to send a second request if you already have one in que until a significant amountbof time has passed. I don't know what that time threshold is, but is several months.

Sarcasm is hard to come across in text, but I thought the laughing emoji at the end of my sentence was enough to signify that I wasn't serious with my statement. 

 

Maybe the admin team can create a sarcasm specific font to use???

Sorry, I didn't notice the emoji. It was my Oops, its there. But you're right sarcasm and tone is hard to express in text.

 I am with the original poster. 

As a repeater owner, part of it is either listing the repeater as open and shutting off the requests, or checking the requests.  The system does email repeater owners at their registered email address when a request comes in.  So it's not like they aren't seeing it.  If they have the function enabled for requests, then it would seem they want the requests.  So they need to answer them in a timely manner.  If they want the repeater listed but be private, to help eliminate interference, then it needs to be listed as such. 

But putting a repeater up, listing it on the site and then not bothering to answer requests is crap.  If you don't have the time to do it, turn off the function or remove the listing.  It's not rocket science.  I understand that it cuts into your time.  I had mine listed with requests for a while and after answering 200 something requests, I set the request function to off.  It clearly states that requests are NOT needed and the PL for the repeater is accessible for any member of this board.  It is open to all licensed GMRS users.

i think you wold be amazed at the number of repeaters someone sets up whom actually do not operate repeaters but do it because 'they can'   This site is not a formal process.  Anyone can set up a repeater here, even a Cave Man can do it....  Once someone set's up a repeater here, it's the responcibgly of that individual to maintain its status, not the site owner. If that person whom set it up died, moved on, or got bored and not having fun playing around,,  oh well.     it is what it is.

Maybe the repeater owner passed away and no one surviving knows anything about this site?
