WRUE951 Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago Wow, Last week I ordered a Baoefeng DM 32UV from the Baofeng direct. When I ordered, I also entered their monthly giveaway contest. Tonight I just received an email from Baofeng, I won a DM 32UV.. that’s cool, now I’ll have two. SteveShannon and WRXB215 2 Quote

You got the pair for less than $50 each. Heck, even if you didn't have any use for two, you could sell one to a friend for $70 and you'd both get a good deal. Quote

WRYS709 Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Just curious: why is the DM-32 preferable to the $50 DM-1701, which can be flashed to OpenGD77 firmware? Quote

OpenGD currently works with a very small handfull off DM radios...the DM-32 is a new DM radio.. I've scoped out OpenGD but there dosen't seem to be much enthusiasm with it.... The DM 32 has a pretty decent CPM, (free download, check it out) and will cover my needs. This radio will not have anything I would desire to change initially but after i play with it i may find some things i woiuld want to change. Also, keep in mind, Baofeng has already had two firmware updates for this radio, so i think they intend to perfect the CPM further.. This radio also has a ton of flexibly on front panel programing, more than what you would get with OpenGD.. The way i evualate OpenGD, it's helping 'some' very limited radios, but wont do anything above and beyond what the DM32 offers.. Quote

It's just another open source firmware project. The OpenGD77 firmware is not officially supported on the DM-32 per this link. https://www.opengd77.com/archive/viewforum976e.html?f=27& https://www.opengd77.com/archive/viewtopic08de.html?f=27&t=4841& https://www.facebook.com/groups/808920029174333/posts/9172085989524320/?_rdr WRUE951 1 Quote
