Some time ago, there was some discussion regarding the Joaquin Ridge repeater if it was still on the air because the owner has passed. Also, I remember in that discussion someone was going to look into keeping that repeater active.

Well, as of the last couple of days, if that repeater is active, the tones and/or the freq have changed. As listed, it is not active.

As for an alternate, the two Park Ridge repeaters provide excellent coverage on I.S. 5 practically all the way up to Westley.

For a while, before it was deactivated "?" it was linked to the Auberry repeater on the east side of the valley. As far as I know, it hasn't been on the air for many months. I check for it every time I come down into the valley. I was over in Coalinga a while back and scanned all of the repeater frequencies and didn't hear anything. The repeater was located on Joaquin Ridge to the east of Coalinga. I have not heard anything regarding the demise of the repeater.

Honestly, I haven't kept an ear on things, so I haven't heard in a bit if it was up or down.

Was searching the repeater listings today, and wasn't even able to find it listed. last I remember, there was some wording on the listing about attempting to track down someone with knowledge of/access to the repeater, but can't see the listing now to see if that updated.

The name has changed and as of four months ago appears to be moving to a new home. If you scroll down in the comments you’ll see that it’s the same repeater formerly known as Joaquin Ridge but the name has changed to Hepsedam Peak. It’s listed as offline at the moment.
Here is a quote from the site (I suspect they meant PAPA 32).

Repeater has been removed Ham took over With PAPA31 Repeater So new Site Listed and should be up soon 2025“

I would imagine that the ridgeline where Joaquin Ridge sits will shadow Interstate 5 from Hepsedam Peak. It is possible that 101 through King City may be covered from Hepsedam.

Isn't Hepsedam near Anderson Peak or is that a different ridgeline?

Thanks for the update ...I saw that one on the map, but since the location didn't match I didn't scroll down to the comments.

I’m not sure where Anderson Peak sits, it’s been awhile but I’ve been out near Hepsedam on a trip to the east Pinnacles. I suspect you may be right about it possibly hitting 101 near King City.

I stumbled upon it as we were traveling north on 101 a few days ago so I was looking up repeaters in the area. I made the connection between this and San Joaquin once I started reading the comments or yeah I wouldn’t have thought it was the same either.
I’m heading back down later today so I’ll see if I can hit it around King City though it’s still listed as off line so I’m not counting on it. I have it programmed in still as San Joaquin in my radio but I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before in its previous location. It still has the same tones listed.

Anderson Peak is east of King City closer to the coast. If that is where the repeater will reside it will no longer reach the I-5 corridor. Either way it's a good thing that it will be on the air again.

It didn’t say anything about Anderson Peak, I was just responding to if this is near that. I’ll have to check the map. I think it’s going to sit on Hepsedam Peak, it says “new site listed” so that’s my guess.

thanks for info on Anderson location, I’ll check that out.
