Programming my KG-935G Plus

Question

Posted

I've purchased the cable required for programming my KG-935G Plus and downloaded the program, but can't seen to figure out how to connect them.  I'm using COM3 and the greem litght blinks when I attempt to read the radio configuration, but I get an error that says "Please check all connections and communication port setting."  I've also downloaded the USB driver and executed the install.exe, but I'm not seeing that it was installed.  Still just see the USB Serial Port (COM3) under Ports in Device Manager.  I did not see any port setting so I'm using the default 9600, 8, 1 and None.  Does anyone know what I'm failing to do?

Just to mention, the KG-935 G Plus is Chirp compatible. Don't know if you're familiar with Chirp but I've come to love it and it's free. Once you program one radio with it, it's easy to copy and paste from one radio to another Chirp compatible radio. Or just portions of it. Also easy to re-arrange programed repeaters around in their order or insert new ones in the middle of others. Sorry if you know all this but it mignt help a newbie.

Well, after making a call to BuyTwoWayRadios and going through everything, I discovered that I downloaded the wrong program for my KG-935G Plus.  It's all good now.

I'm glad it wasn't a hardware failure, requiring it to be exchanged, and the 935H is a step up from the 935G and can Still function on Gmrs/ Frs and Murs. 😊
