Antenna height

I'm shopping for an attic antenna and see the Comet CA-GMRS is listed at 42". Is that overall, or just the fiberglass portion? I have 49" at my disposal and the interwebs are not helping.

Amazon is wrong. The CA-GMRS is 42 inches long. It is the Comet CA-712EFC that is 10 foot long.

I looked up the specs for this antenna and it is 42 inches in total length.

Remember you need to put coax on the end feed of this which will add several inches to the height.

True, but it probably won't add 7". Also, he could use a 90 degree coax elbow.

The antenna will be in the attic directly above the radio, so the cable will simply drop straight down.
