Wouxun KG-1000G Repeater Tail ?

SemperFiGuy

Question

Greetings All:

I have installed my new Wouxun KG-1000G radio in my vehicle and it works well.  The one question  I have is:  How do I program a repeater tail so that I know I'm hitting the local repeater channel that I'm on?  I can key the mic and there is no following tail.  If I ask for a radio check, invariably I will get a response from another user who is on the same repeater.  I'm sure programming the repeater tail is obvious but for the life of me, I can't seem to find it in the menu.  Thanks in advance for your help.

As MichaelLax has indicated, the repeater tail is a function of the repeater and is set by the repeater owner. If you were building your own repeater out of a pair of KG-1000G then you would setting the tail on one of those two radios that comprises your repeater. The KG1000 does have a setting for adjusting the tail, but it is only relevant when it is repeater mode and being used as part of a repeater system.

Question:  First, thanks to all for your sharing on this forum. It makes this forum one of the best gmrs/repeater resources on the internet.  I have just completed my repeater install of two KG1000G;s and have a programming cable on the way. Early range testing is promising. Twenty miles mobile to repeater with a very good reception at the repeater.

My question, I've not seen a lot of info on the squelch tail function of the KG1000G repeater. Does anyone know which function puts a squelch tail on the repeaters transmit radio and any particulars about the setting?  Any info is appreciated.  Thanks for sharing.
