Radios with end of TX screech

I frequently travel through mid Ohio on my way to and from PA.  There is a very active repeater that has users that have radios that have what I call an end of transmission screech. What kind of radios make that sound when you unkey? It's not like the typical bubble pack radio "Roger beep". Anyone have a clue?

Could be transmitting location information. A screech sounds like there must be a data modulation upon unkey.

 

If it's transmitting location information, that could be a Garmin.

That is almost certainly an "MDC" on Motorola radios, or "FleetSync" on some Kenwood radios.  It's a digital identifier that other radios of the same type can read and display on their screen.

Kind of reminds me of the old Browning Golden Eagles.  Distinctive doesn't even begin to describe the sound they made.
