WRPS483 Posted September 14, 2022 Report Share Posted September 14, 2022 I purchased a Baofeng 9r and also a programming cable and it came with a mini cd . Since my laptop does not have a mini cd player I tried to download the Baofeng driver and it won't open saying the file is not compatible with the Adobe system. Any ideas? I am very new to GMRS. OffRoaderX Posted September 14, 2022 Report Share Posted September 14, 2022 It sounds like your computer is incorrectly trying to open the compressed (.zip or .rar) file with Adobe. Try to manually open the file with your Unzipping program, or look up how to change the association between whatever file type it is and Adobe. Presuming Win10 AND that the download is a ZIP format, try <right-click>Extract All... If it is a RAR file, you may need to download a more general purpose compression program (eg: 7-Zip) -- Windows native compressor is, I believe, only ZIP compatible. As for Adobe -- it sounds like some Adobe product you installed has hijacked whatever extension the file has. I usually see that error when I have the wrong radio model selected - confirm you have selected the correct radio, and make sure the volume on the radio is set to about 50%-75% or so .. WRPS483 Posted October 9, 2022 Author Report Share Posted October 9, 2022 I selected the proper radio... volume was up. All my other radios (Baofeng), have worked.
