I buy the GMRS 9R and i got some confusion on setting.

in the setting #41 of the GMRS 9R Radio say R-TONE. 1000Hz,1450hz etc

What is the function of this setting?

i am new on GMRS and i receive that radio today.

R-TONE

Repeater Tone -  Used to activate those repeaters requiring a specific audible tone to be transmitted for access. -  Sending tone requires first pressing the PTT, then pressing the [F] key.    This is not to be confused with a sub-audible CTCSS or DCS code.

Common in the UK and probably much of Europe. Most common tone is 1750.

After a period of time, the repeaters basically turn off the transmitter and wait for a wake-up tone to be received before they'll pass traffic. May or may not use CTCSS during traffic...

Thanks for op asking this question and thanks for this clarification Sshannon, I was also wondering about this and went looking for info about it.  I recently and successfully programmed in a local repeater I’m fortunate is only 4.6 miles from my home and hadn’t yet wrapped my head around the difference between these repeater tones and the CTCSS or DCS codes.  I’m new to the GMRS world and really appreciate the community here sharing their knowledge.
