vefrancis Posted March 16, 2023 Report Posted March 16, 2023 Has anyone owned one of these short fiberglass antennas listing for about $27 on Amazon? Any thoughts on them? I've got restricted space. I'm new to this just got my license, any info appreciated. Thanks ahead of time Quote

Personally I would stay with a recognized brand, such as Midland, Comet, Diamond, Tram, or for more money, Laird. Are you thinking about putting an antenna in your attic, or on a roof, or what? gortex2 1 Quote
gortex2 Posted March 17, 2023 Report Posted March 17, 2023 If you link the actual antenna it may be more helpful but sticking with a name brand will be better in the long run. Quote
WRVK578 Posted March 29, 2023 Report Posted March 29, 2023 I ordered one of these but returned it. Using a nano VNA I saw that it was really tuned for the amateur 70 cm band. The SWR at GMRS frequencies was over 3:1. I am currently using a J-Pole from KB9VBR and I am very satisfied. It was about the same price but work much better on GMRS. SteveShannon 1 Quote
