kidphc Posted April 28, 2023 Report Posted April 28, 2023 Looks like it isn't trailer accessible. Do you guys lug out all the gear in a wagon or pack mule like a bernard?Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk Quote
marcspaz Posted April 28, 2023 Author Report Posted April 28, 2023 @kidphc It looks a lot worse than it was. I didn't get to see the site ahead of time, so we had to hump it all by hand. Thankfully it was only about 50 yards from the road. We just parked roadside to unload and load. FWIW... even at about 50 yards, it still kinda sucked, and that was with 3 people carrying stuff. kidphc Posted April 28, 2023 Report Posted April 28, 2023 Wow. If it was me it would be a military load bearing backpack, a radio, golf umbrella strapped to the backpack. Cooler in one hand and a small generator in the other.I would of looked like a hobo pervert watching the runners go by.Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk marcspaz and rivrrat 2 Quote
marcspaz Posted April 28, 2023 Author Report Posted April 28, 2023 @kidphc that is exactly what the next time will look like! LOL Seriously though, it was 40 degrees and raining... and we were there for about 30 hours. The heat and shelter was a must. kidphc 1 Quote
kidphc Posted April 28, 2023 Report Posted April 28, 2023 I get you. Too bad setup and breakdown probably took as long as the event.Looks more like a welcome tent then aide tent. Lol..Love it though.Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk marcspaz 1 Quote

WRQC527 Posted April 28, 2023 Report Posted April 28, 2023 Nice job. I've worked comms at a several 50k trail runs here in SoCal. Nothing overnight though, just all-day events. It's always rewarding to use our equipment for the greater good. marcspaz and WRUU653 2 Quote

kidphc Posted April 28, 2023 Report Posted April 28, 2023 Actually, Marc ever thought about a small trailer with a motorized trailer dolly?Only since you do the events so often?Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk Quote

There will actually be an additional mast. LoL 8 minutes ago, kidphc said: Actually, Marc ever thought about a small trailer with a motorized trailer dolly? Only since you do the events so often? Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk I thought about buying an inexpensive used pop-up travel trailer. Depending on how the year goes, that may happen next year. I've been eyeballing a motorized cart with big inflatable tires and a 500 lb capacity. It costs about $1,000. Maybe as we closer to the end of the year. Quote
