Wouxun kg1000g+ not transmitting on 467 mhz

I just got my Wouxun kg1000g+ today. I programmed it as simular to my other radios as possible. took my radioddity off the shelf and plugged in the kg1000. sat my ht across the room on the same frequency on simplex. worked well of course. tried to contact the repeater. nothing happend no return, nothing. went and looked at everything making sure rx was 0ff and the tx was at the proper code. everything looked fine. I hit the repeater with my ht and got a return. so next step was set both at the 467mhz and there is where i got 0 connection making sure offset was off and there was no pl code. everything as simplex as it could be on that frequency. is it faulty? or am i missing something?

Transmit on 467.xxx?

Correct tone for transmit?

Receive on 462.xxx? Same xxx as transmit. You must have the transmit frequency 5 MHz higher than the receive frequency.

Correct tone or no tone for receive?

even if ur testing in a simplex manner? ull have to excuse my ignorance im still fairly new to radio. if im on 467 and wanted to get to 462 then id have to set the offset to -5.000 mhz. otherwise the offswt would put me in the 500mhz. ive done confused myself. might u have another suggestion?

I SEE where i didnt answe your question and that i didnt detail the repeater connection part well enough. so i originally tried on 462.600 simp and work switch over to the repeater i had programmed that was saved and in use by my other three radios.   and so YES i did have the +5 offset and i had the correct pl/ctcss/dcs code in the tx. THEN i turned all that codes off and set both devices to 467 where i then tried transmitting from the wouxun and there was nothing.

So are you trying to do simplex on 467? That’s not allowed except for Fixed Stations (don’t ask; there’s an entire thread on the topic.)

According to the regulations, transmitting on 467 main frequencies by a mobile station is only permitted when transmitting through a repeater, which would require receiving on 462 MHz.

Maybe the baked in rules don’t allow trying to communicate on 467 simplex. I’d be surprised, but not shocked.

oh crud, i didnt think about that. i would have to have the pl/ctcss/dcs code in and make the repeater recieve and then send it back to listening device still on 462.****. I BET i messed that test up by not thinking about factory blocking transmit on that frequency.   HEY thank you. imma try aome more testing tomorrow. i just dont know how my other transcievers work just fi e with the same settings but this 1000g+ is giving the issues. someone somewhere else mentioned TALK AROUND and im thinking thats a bit superfuliousin the situation im presenting.

Talk around sets the radio to transmit on 462 and receive on 467.  You could use a radio on talk around to talk to a radio set to the appropriate repeater channel.
Testing on 467 is allowed.
