Loctite?

I'm putting an antenna together....Comet CA-712EFC. On the ground plane (radial rods), some say use it for obvious reasons, then others say don't because you put a thin layer between the medals. Which causes a break down in continuity. Thoughts?

I wouldn’t add Loctite unless the directions call for it. But I doubt it’d cause continuity issues. The aluminum oxide layer that forms almost immediately on aluminum surfaces is already a pretty good insulator but we’re dealing with alternating current in the UHF which waltzes through very thin layers of dielectrics.

I wouldn't put loctite. What kind of vibrations do you plan to experience here? Just screw it snug, Al oxide film will be destroyed by tightening it up.
