One thing I found is that RT systems does not always play well with aftermarket cables, especially with the Prolific chips.

Double check your coms port number in device manager to make sure your computer is seeing it. Then check that you are using the correct com port number in the RT Systems software.

Many Cables were manufactured with notoriously counterfeited Prolific chips. 
 

these are causing many Windows 11 problems.

Did the com port thing.  PC is seeing it as com port 5.  Put that in the drop down in the software.  correct cable from RT systems.  spoke with her and she is sending me another cable with straight in plug VS the 90 degree one.
