WRDU469 Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 What determines a "stale" repeater on this site? I have noticed several repeaters in my area are not shown in the map view even though they are online. Only thing I can see is they come up on the stale repeater list when doing an advanced search. I am guessing they move to a stale repeater list some time after more than a year of not being updated on this site? Quote
Guest Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 Don’t know? Don’t see why it matters? I’ve got like 8 repeaters near me. Only 2 on in this site. Quote

It doesn’t mean the repeater doesn’t exist. WRXB215 1 Quote
nokones Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 Under Map Options you can check the box to include all Stale Repeaters on the Map but you have to recheck the box every time you refresh the map. SteveShannon and WRXB215 2 Quote

Thanks and I guess my point was several repeaters have been previously shown on the map but recently I have noticed them missing from the map but still in the search of repeaters near me. I suspect the owners just need to get in there and update their information. Quote

Then it's a matter of how good your radio's tone scanner is, and if they talk enough for it to figure out what the right tone is. Or you may have a local club w/ that info posted somewhere. As an example, there's a *bunch* of repeaters in Northern Utah that aren't on myGMRS, but they're all listed on the local group's FB page. Quote
