BTech V2 GMRS +- Repeater Offset

I can not transmit on GMRS 1.  The only thing I see different from other GMRS channels is the +- repeater offset image is on the display.  How do I turn it off?  I can not find it in the manual.

You may have to use the CPS or CHIRP to fix it. Otherwise, you may need to send it back for a replacement.

How do you know you aren't transmitting? Channel 1 is simplex meaning you receive on the same frequency where on repeater channel 1 you are using two frequencies.

Sounds like you somehow managed to set an offset onto GMRS 1. So you're transmitting to a frequency that isn't GMRS1.

Disable the offset and try it again?

As long as the offset is positive, the OP is still on a GMRS channel. Channel 8 is channel 1 + 5.000 MHz. It’s also an interstitial channel which is limited to 0.5 watts.

If the offset is negative the OP is down in some other service.

I didn't say it wasn't GMRS. I said it wasn't GMRS 1.  If they're trying to talk on GMRS 1, and have another radio listening on GMRS 1, transmitting on GMRS 8 isn't helping them any

You’re right.  I missed seeing the 1.  My mistake.
