Is there some secret to get the repeater offsets to work correctly in Odmaster? I even tried loading them from Chirp and reading it to Odmaster, but it put the TX frequency the same as the RX.

Which radio are you trying to use it with? and are you reading it ito Odmaster from a radio where it is already setup properly and working?

I can experiment a bit.. I have two H3s but I rarely use ODmaster... usually program from the keyboard or use CHIRP.

Yeah I tried that too.. my TX frequency is correct in the radio and in chirp.. but when read it into ODmaster... it shows transmit frequencies as 462. instead of 467.

Odmaster is buggy and weird. I don't use it and I would not recommend it. have you tried writing what it read back to the radio and does it make it so it will not transmit correctly?

(I am 579 on the club repeaters)

I did not try and transmit after writing it back to the TD H8.  I had enough trouble with Odmaster and using Chirp for the first time.  I just wanted it to work. It was also pretty quiet yesterday, and I don't like to radio check 10 times an hour. Frequency offset seems like a pretty basic setting. Odmaster has potential, but I mean. Geez.  (I'm 803 in Pasadena.)

Ah ok.. yes I heard your radio check and heard that "Coach" responded to you. Yes you came in to the repeater very understandable  with a little static but not bad. Im in Garden Grove.. heading out to run some errands... i might try giving you a shout out in hte next hour or less.

MesaWest is a bit of a stretch from Pasadena with an HT, but Charlie is super close.  I plan on changing that with a decent antenna.

You were coming in on both west and charlie for me. Not a super strong signal (as expected with an HT) but very understandable on both, with just a bit of static but nothing too bad. I am also using a TD-H3 with a 771G whip antenna and was sitting in my car with the sunroof open... sticking the antenna out the roof when I called you a few minutes ago.

Adding a different antenna should help but It seems to be working on both repeaters for you right now.

I just got this TD H8 and it has the stock rubber duck on it for another day, but the little cheap Baofeng GM-15 and Radio Oddity GM-30 seem to have as good if not better reception with 771s. I was messing around with a Negoya  UT-72G on a pizza pan this weekend, and that seemed to be great. I've only just started, so I think a base antenna with a mobile unit might be in order now that there are people to talk to!
