WSAE510 Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 I have three Tiradio H3 Handhelds and one H8 I was wondering if anyone uses them? Mine works great TrikeRadio and Jaay 2 Quote
OffRoaderX Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 I have several and they all work just as great as all the others in the same price range - but i find the H3s to be too tiny for my very manly hands. TrikeRadio and Jaay 1 1 Quote
CoffeeTime Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 I like my H3. It has been a good radio for over 1 year now. I like the longer battery life, the USB-C jack for charging, and the sound quality of the audio. Mine works well on both repeaters and on simplex. SteveShannon, WRUU653 and Jaay 3 Quote

WSHH887 Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Socalgmrs a question. What brands do you own? Or did you build it yourself like Hams of old did? Pardon me, that was two questions. Maybe that is causing his lack of response. Jaay, TrikeRadio and WRYZ926 3 Quote

Right! Exactly why I like the H-8. While it's still a tad bit small, at least it's not likely to chase the tv remote into the neverland of the sofa cushions ! Quote
LeoG Posted March 19 Report Posted March 19 I have over a dozen of the H3s and one Baofeng UV-26 Quote

Mine works great Yep, I have a pair of H3's and they work great. Love the ease of programming, the duel frequency watch, e display that shows the channel custom name, Channel number, as well as the frequency! Also like the size - easy to stash in a pocket or strap to a bike handle (one thing I use them for). And their range always surprises me (the stock antennas are surprisingly better than one might expect... but I like to put the 771G on them and they perform much better. Quote

How do you have an opinion on them? Cheap chynese Radio. Must be horrible. And people have had problems with them that the company has resolved quickly. How horrible. Might as well spend 4 to 5 times as much and get a quality radio with many less features that you can only program with a computer instead of the keyboard on the fly. amaff and TrikeRadio 2 Quote
GrouserPad Posted Thursday at 06:13 PM Report Posted Thursday at 06:13 PM I like how loud they are. The higher pitch speaker makes them easier to hear in loud environments than other ht’s. Also, mine has a glitchy thing where in wide band on receive it will sometimes exhibit it a sh sh sh sh sh sh sh sh sh sh sound when a frs radio is on the same channel transmitting. Switch to narrow band and this goes away. Never noticed this on my ocean or baofeng ht’s when communicating with frs radios. Quote
LeoG Posted Thursday at 06:52 PM Report Posted Thursday at 06:52 PM Definitely agree with how loud they can get. Wish my Wouxun mobile would get this loud. Sound quality of the Wouxun is far better but that doesn't do it in a loud environment like on the highway with the windows down. Quote

Switch to narrow band and this goes away I wouldn't say that is a glitch with your radio. I have noticed the same thing when others are using narrow band and I am using wide band. It is more pronounced when talking through a repeater. I have heard that no matter if I am using an HT or a mobile/base radio. I tell them to switch to wide band and their transmissions are clear when they do. GrouserPad 1 Quote

He has been asked what radios he uses multiple times and he has yet to answer the question. I think he's up to 999 or 1009 reasons why one should not buy certain brands of radios. Quote

How do you have an opinion on them? I'm convinced if someone had a question about their APX 7000 or a Harris radio, SoCal would talk shit about it, just because he doesn't have one! I don't think he's happy unless he's being Negative about someone else's equipment. Quote

Narrow FM is the FCC approved default setting for the FRS frequencies, so that's Why you'll hear it better on NFM. GrouserPad 1 Quote
