I fully agree. I could not figure out why I would want to use my phone to talk on my radio if they were both right there within Bluetooth range.

I can think of one advantage of answering your phone home with your mic. Here using a handheld phone while driving illegally (never enforced but still technically against the law) but using a hand handheld microphone isn't.

I can see that. I use Car Play to avoid that but not everyone has it or wants to pair their phone to their car (my wife is one of them).
