Even though they don't call it GMRS in Iran this is the perfect situation to offer cheap disposable GMRS radios to the rescue workers to facilitate efficient communications.
-
You are correct it is the two lined version.
-
That may be the original 2-line display model. The ones I was referring to are the new full-color screen models.

I sorta reset my password. Used the same one. Was it a hack or just a glitch? Said it was a year since my last password update and it's mostly accurate. I didn't check but I got into GMRS about the middle of May and didn't get my license until shortly after that then signed up here.

Radioddity DB40-G - Programming Lost its tone
LeoG replied to WSGU761's question in Technical Discussion
Did you try to install the firmware again? Maybe it didn't go in right or it's faulty and a new one will need to be reissued. -

Any of the Wouxun radios I feel are good. I like the Wouxun KG 935G plus. It ticks your boxes of nothing cheap, chirp programmable, mid tier. Since you want to use hiking it’s worth noting the 805, 905 and S88G plus are going to be easier to see the screen outdoors. As previously mentioned definitely stick with type certified for ease and simplicity. @73blazer listed a few things worth looking over in making your decision. Do you want waterproof? Bluetooth? … I know you said nothing cheap however something like a Baofeng UV9G isn’t going to break the bank, is waterproof and chirp compatible and a good radio to use while you determine what some needs or wants may be. In the end it’s your decision and I wish you luck in making it. If you are like some of us here it won’t be your last radio purchase -

Retevis RT97L portable repeater -- first impressions

lol... its ok, congrats to the winner. - Today

I doubt Btech thinks that's a plan. They should mention it and might be able to sell an extra duplexer with each unit.
-
Had that happen to my H3. Was in a building and wanted to see if I could hit my repeater. I couldn't. It was strange cause I was pretty close by. Then I drove by it and still couldn't hit it. Somehow my tones got changed and all I had to do is restore them and bingo, success. It can happen.

If they were working a few days ago, you changed nothing, and suddenly they aren't working, then you aren't missing anything - they have both gone defective.. OR .... You DID change something, you're on the wrong channels, or committing some other user-error.
-
Nothing wrong with that plan at all.

I have the 805 and like it. -
Are you entering an I (eye) or a 1? The correct format is four letters and three numbers.
-
Updated chirp on my computer and seen that the 805-g is now listed.. Excited I plugged in but to no avail.. I am now thinking that possibly it only works with a Wouxun branded cable and not the one that I use on all my other radios.. Don't know and hoping someone here knows the answer to the riddle.
-
I did start with the radios next to each other. I left the HA1G inside and went outside with one of the GM-30's walked for a ways and tried again. Same result unfortunately. I'm not sure what I'm missing. I know they have worked together in the past.

The Wouxun KG-935G is a nice radio with plenty of bells and whistles. The Wouxun KG-805G and KG-905G are simpler without any buttons to mess with on the radio. And the Wouxun programming software, available from Buy Two Way Radios, is easy to use. -
Hmmm just thinking out loud. If the claim of .25µV 12dB SINAD with the wide band duplexer is true is there going to be any gain on those number with the single band tuning on the new duplexer? And any guesses on how much? All I can do is excitedly speculate until it gets back into my possession.

More like how close to the storms were the radios LOL

How close are the radios to each other when you are testing?

This is the correct answer.. and for clarification, because you are new, "Part 95 certified" means that it says "GMRS" on the box. .Any radio/box/advertisement that says "GMRS" on it is Part 95 certified, meaning it is a true "GMRS Radio".. if it does not say "GMRS", then it is a business radio, a H.A.M.s radios, or lord knows what else, and will be more complicated to use and may not transmit on GMRS frequencies. -
You are going to have tax and shipping pretty much anywhere you order from now days. Giga Parts is one of the few radio related venders that doesn't charge sales tax. And most places will wave shipping fees if your order is over a certain amount.

I also recommend not passing over some of the Baoefeng options. The GM-5RH has a lot of the features that you’re looking for. But the Wouxun HTs might be better if you want more mid-tier.
