  1. I dont usually like to post videos here, but I have been so inspired by several of the "experts" in this forum complaining that we should not be using radios made in China that I put together a list of all the American Made radios AND I vow to purchase each one of these American made radios and do a full review of them in the next 30 days.. Thank you to "some people" that opened my eyes about not purchasing radios that are not made in America.

  2. Um, I'm very new to CHIRP, and have no idea how to complete this process. Have you tried this, and did it work? If so, I will try to dig deeper and try to figure it out. Thanks for doing the footwork! ? EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out, and IT WORKED! Thank you so much for your help with this, and if you report back to CHIRP, you can report that the fix worked perfectly for me!

  3. OK.... The CHIRP developer is on it and has a test patch. It is located in: https://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/9933 The test file must be downloaded, then loaded into CHIRP in its developer mode.

  4. MY GMRS-V2 also will not hold the squelch settings. Nothing I tried worked. I contacted a CHIRP dev, as well as emailed BTECH

  7. The 50x1 and v1 also program with chirp..on those there simply isn't a software setting for transmit or no transmit, it's set in the firmware and I've not found a way to override that. I will note my uv5r based radio have a "tx disable" setting on a band-wide basis, vhf and uhf. In the case of your gt5r, does baofeng have their own software for it? If it's a very recently certified version, it may be that the chirp isn't quite compatible with the new firmware needed to lock it down for part 95 certification. That lines up with the info I found on radioddity.com as well. 2m/70cm only, rx only outside that.
