  3. @Extreme Very nice! I hope to get out your way sometime to wheel and get BOH trails done.
  4. That could work for us also I will talk to my wheeling buddy when he comes by tonight and see if he is interested. We do plan to go In May to Penn. to wheel so I have to make sure there is no conflicts. Thanks @marcspaz for starting the thread.
  5. @CTarna Welcome! And I see a Jeep!!!!
  6. @gortex2 Nice. It sounds like several of us do Uwharrie. We going to need to make this meet up happen.
  7. Like I stated in another reply. My buddy and I would be down.
  8. I can tell you my buddy and I will be coming to Uwharrie at least a couple to a few times in 2024. We will do long weekends and camping. So we are in if we can make it work.
  9. @marcspaz very nice build list you got there my friend! Yes, please keep me posted on trailing trips. Maybe we can make something work.
  10. Yes Sir! Looking good! I know I asked in another forum about your lift but this answers that question for me. MC is an outstanding company and I love their lift.
  11. I got into GMRS for the same reasons. But I went to Youtube and learned how to set up repeaters around me and where I plan to travel. By setting up repeaters you can monitor channels and get more traffic to interact with or just listen to. I monotor 2 channels at a time on my radio and usually hear people off and on throughout the day.
  12. What lift do you have on your Gladiator? I have Metal Cloak 3.5" on my Jeep. Keep me posted on the Gulches,Windrock & Uwharrie trips and maybe we can hook up for the ride.
  13. Man! I am loving the old Bronco! I like GMRS for the fact that I keep a few walkies in my Jeep ready to go so that i can hand them to anyone who don't have a radio. Appreciate the reply.
  14. Agree with these replies. The good thing about GMRS is if you can get a few repeaters set up it should help your chances of being able to communicate. I bought a pair of cheaper GMRS radios for off roading then got a Wouxun 935g. I will say it for sure gets out better than the cheaper ones I had.
  15. Appreciate the advice. I am in no rush. So we will see what the budget is when I get there.
  16. I am debating between the XS 20 or the 1000 for my Jeep. I want the 50w power but I want the XS20 cost. Lol Right now I am using the Kg-935t HT and it way our performs the cheaper HT's I had before.
  17. I really want to get a drone but all my Jeep upgrades are coming first.
  18. Love it! Monitor channels so you can rescue Yota's. I have 2017 Rubicon Recon Usually use channel 16 unless super busy and we will use less used channel. Only "real" trail so far is Uwharrie in NC. Plan to hit Gulches, Windrock, and 5 BOH trails in Penn this coming year. By the way. Love the videos. And thank you for inspiring me to get into GMRS.
  19. Who all off roads? What vehicle do you off road in? What channel you use for trailing (is it open or simplex set up)? What's your favorite local trail/trails?
  20. I am in Campobello SC
  21. When I first tried to set up my radio ( I am new) I was setting the tone for both R and T. I found out it only needed to be set for T (transmit) One I turned off or erased the R (receive) I was able to talk. Hope this helps.
  22. Thank you
  23. I am new to GMRS and getting into it. I bought a couple handhelds for off-roading and travel. I am using TID H5. I have tried repeatedly to key up from home to test radios and I get no response. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I live in Campobello area of SC. 1 mile from I26 and 30min South of Asheville NC WRUN914
