The GMRS license is pretty cheap, $35 for 10years and your entire family can use your license. I do believe the more that get their license will help us all protect keeping the GMRS frequencies available for our use...but I digress.

It's still owned by someone and it's their call sign attached to it. Their repeater their rules. I certainly wouldn't go against the wishes of the owner of the equipment I have the privilege of using if they have stated a preference.

Quick down and dirty to at least make it work at least for your example....
Go to repeater channel 19 (displayed as RPT-19)
Press "Menu"
Press the up arrow 10 times (display will show TX-CTCSS)
Press "Menu" again
Use the up arrow to select 141.3
Press "Menu" again to confirm and go back
Press the "Exit" key and you are done.
