  3. Thanks, I was looking at the 1000G also and decided on the MXT500 for simplicity and the waterproof rating.
  4. It was a project, the designed changed many times.
  5. Midland MXT500. Battery is doing fine so far, I have only had it out twice so I can’t comment on longevity. I have left it on at the house for two days and it was still at 13.4 volts. I’m looking to put a small solar panel and charger with it.
  6. Here’s mine that I am almost finished with. MXT 500 in a Harbor Freight Apache 3800 case. Microphone and power cords ect go inside the Tupperware. It’s powered off of a 12 volt power supply at the house and a 10ah LiFePO4 battery when in the field. Waiting on a solar battery charger and a few other things
  7. I had the same problem, tired different software fixes and they were all in Chinese so I could not get it uploaded, ended up sending it back.
  8. No, I am in channel mode, I go to say Repeater #1, punch in the code and hit menu, it says confirm. When I go through the menu to check the CTCS menu says "off"
  9. I just picked up a set of these and I am trying to set up a repeater. I have other radios and I have no problem setting up the repeater on the keypad or through the software. Here is my issue. If I use the radio keypad to manually enter the R-CTCS code and then hit Menu button again (save confirmed)however, when I go back and check it says R-CTCS is off. I tried numerous time and it did not save. Now if I program the code (s) with CHIRP it will save it. Is this a problem with the radio or am I doing something wrong? Thank you..
  10. thanks for the help but it's on its way back to the seller so no need to look into it since I am going with KG 935 Plus.
  11. I got a windows desktop to use and downloaded the software, it did not work, everything was blank on the dropdown boxes except the location of the usb com port, the other two boxes were in Chinese. I followed the pictures but like I said there was no option in the drop down boxes and when I clicked the last tab ( as the pic showed) it gave me an hour glass and the closed out the program. I tried this 5 different times. Its packed up going back to the seller. I ordered a Woxuxun KG 935 plus. Thanks for all the replies.... thanks, I will try to see if I can get a windows platform to try. S o those ??? marks I see on the filmware line in Chirp is normal? Is there a way to view the current filmware by using the radio keypad?

  13. I just got a Baofeng UV9G and it has the Channel 15 issue with not transmitting. I am using Chirp with a MacBook Pro. When I connect the radio to Chirp the firmware versions listed is a bunch of ??????? marks. I tried to download the Channel 15 fix but IOS can't open it. Is this download a Windows only file? I don't want to send it back if I can get it to work. Thankyou,
