That is why the Chevron decision was struck down.  I think a lot of changes will be happening because of that change.  It should slow things down considerably because congress needs to get involved with anything they call a regulation/rule that is treated as law.

Stretches between Syracuse and Niagra Falls.  3 repeaters if I remember correctly.  I'd show you on the map but they've been removed.

It's almost like they have a rule for everything and anything so they can go after you any time they want.  It's nearly impossible to comply with all the rules/regulations/fake laws they come up with.  Some of them contradict another so they can pick and choose the side they want to use against you.
I try to follow the rules, but sometimes it's literately impossible to follow one while not breaking another.  And it's likely designed that way or made up by people who's left hand doesn't know what their right is doing.

Seems as though they don't really want this information to get out.  The "club president" that was interviewed really wasn't the guy to speak to.  They had permission to use the system but had no control over it.  The "custodian" is the guy that needs to be interviewed to find out what is really going on.
I have only myself to blame.  The system was fine until I went up to visit my grandchildren and used the repeater.  Unbeknownst to me it was linked.  But after I used it was when all this seemed to go down.

    Ya, I'm kidding. 😉

They've had free reign over us for 40 years because of that bad decision in '84.  I think even though the decision was unconstitutional it would have been best for the people who knew better to make the decisions instead of a court that really didn't have the knowledge/experience to make those decisions.  Unfortunately we are talking about bureaucrats who love power and would do anything to have more and more.  And herein lies the problem with giving agencies power like that which they aren't authorized to have.  They make decisions that give them more power and continue to do so and then make rules/regulations with the power of law behind them without any congressional oversight or even input.  The courts got lazy and either didn't want to do their jobs or outright refused to do the job and deferred all authority to power hungry bureaucrats that only had their own interests in hand.
This took way too long to get rid of.  But at least now we are on our way to slowing new things way down because of overloaded courts.  And we won't have bureaucrats making decisions that give them power over the people to expand the govt to give themselves more power.

Digital will need it's own bandwidth and frequencies.  We can't have all that crappy digital noise on the analog channels.  Digital changed TV for the better.  But it was a hard battle and the switch over was brutal.

You did what you were asked.  It would have been nice to see CB vs GMRS because both of them are about the same wattage and vastly different frequencies and tech, AM vs FM

That's a really good answer.  Wish you had tried the GMRS on 5 watts to see how an HT might have worked.

Really?  I actually find that odd.  If I heard someone calling out my callsign I would likely answer them.  Why not?  Get to know your neighbors and maybe make a new friend.  If they asked to stop by the house, that would be another thing.  But to just talk on the radio would be fine.
