  1. There is no setting to eliminate a strong signal.. Try taking the antenna off, and see if it continues - if it goes away without the antenna, that confirms that the radio is going its job by letting you hear nearby signals, even if you dont like what that signal sounds like. If it continues with no antenna, try in a different room/house to try and narrow-down if that strong signal is coming from something like LED or florescent lights, your computer, or some other nearby spurious-RF-generator.. If it happens all the time with no antenna, no matter where you are, then the radio might be broken and you will have to decide if it is worth the hassle of contacting BuyTwoWayRadios and asking for a replacement.
  2. You're not the boss of him.
  3. Then you have not watched any of the reviews that actually matter.
  4. I am known in my circle of friends as "The dream crusher"
  5. Yes.. TWO different cities, miles from each other.. Both were terrible and frustrating experiences and in the end, nothing was accomplished - imagine trying to deal with the biggest and worst HOA ever assembled... Hopefully YOUR town is better.
  6. Yes. Sorry..
  7. There are technical differences, but I have never observed any actual, real-world difference - in the real-world, they both do the job just fine. also, FYI, I have owned/used virtually every GMRS radio manufactured since ~2017 and I do not recall ever seeing one that does not support DPL/DTC/DCS tones. Not saying those radios do not exist, but if they do, they are very old, very rare, or, both.
  8. i just made a video about Scientology so obviously i don't care about my reputation, but I dont want another one of those electronic abortions of a repeater.
  9. I don't think so. For the monies, I would expect much higher build-quality (ie; no wobbly knobs), MUCH better software, and far more features like channels, more customization, etc. Not enough bangs for the bucks.
  10. Based on the FCC's past/current enforcement record against GMRS violators, what would you guess the FCC will decide to do?
  11. In order to get FCC Part 95 type acceptance, all GMRS radios do that. It's not 'weird', it's how it is supposed to be.
  12. That's just because you want me to respond to all the DMs that you keep sending me there, but I already told you, i'm not interested.
  13. What about when I said your beard was sexy?!
  14. Let me make this simple enough, that even you will understand it: YES - There are those that regular people refer to as "sad hams" .. this is fact, it cannot be disputed. If this fact makes you sad, and/or if you do not understand the difference between a 'sad ham', and a regular, helpful, normal-ham, then YOU ARE A SAD HAM, and YOU are who all of us normal people make fun of. and if that makes you even more sad, then, good, you deserve it. (and yes, even if you dont have a H.A.M. radio license, you can still have all the personality defects making you a latent sad-H.A.M.) As for these facts spreading out in other venues: thank you for noticing! Please continue to spread the word! If you are referring to something else, then please clarify, because as everyone knows, I love to answer stupid questions.
  15. I have never made that claim.
  16. I think I made my argument pretty clear in my comment, so please re-read it, but this time, try to pay attention. If, after re-reading, you are still confused, just ask a grown-up to explain it to you using simple-words you can understand.
  17. Its not 'propaganda' when it's true If what you propose is correct, it validates item #1
  18. There is no way to know, because irregardlessly of what one particular untrustworthy pathological mythomaniac keeps telling us stories about, the FCC does not publish information on complaints. I could imagine that in some areas there are complaints, but whether its 1 complaint or 10,000 complaints, it does not matter as the FCCs public record on enforcement shows that, up until now at least, they execute near-zero GMRS related enforcement actions.
  19. It appears that you your self-professed autism has progressed into retardation. But thank you, for once again, demonstrating to everyone-here, multiple times, that nothing you say is to be believed or taken seriously.
  20. I dont think he's been spreading it as long as you have been spreading yours. You have been challenged REPEATEDLY to provide a source for your claims, and 100% of the time, you have provided nothing more than name calling in response. HOWEVER- I would guess that complaints have actually been filed - Filing a complaint with the FCCs is simple and i would also GUESS that they receive hundreds, if not thousands of complaints for various things every day. What matters is how many complaints [related to GMRS] does the FCCs ACT ON... and, based on the FCCs public enforcement database that anyone can search through, the answer is, virtually 0 ..
  21. almost certainly a cable/driver/Windows issue. same cable?
  22. Double check that you are using the correct TX tone.. Double check that you looked up the tone correctly in the Mildand code-table, and double check that you entered it correctly, double check that you saved it correctly and double-check that you saved it to the correct REPEATER channel. If you still are not able to hit the repeater, drive closer.. if you are still not able to hit the repeater, then either you have the tone wrong, you entered it wrong, you're on the wrong channel, the repeater is down, your antenna is broken, or your radio is defective... ...and i doubt the repeater is down or the radio is defective.
  23. Are you certain the tone is correct? and if you are certain, HOW are you certain?
  24. When you let go of the transmit button, do you hear a static-blip/return from the repeater?
