  1. i too would like to know.. if not the exact spot, at least a more generalized location - i'm curious if its one of the areas we ever go to.
  2. Duh! Obviously would be because its haunted!
  3. Because that might lead to jealousy, anger, rage or violence ....
  4. I know/am familiar with a lot of the Jeep groups around here and sadly many of them are just very pretty mall-crawlers and grocery getters with fresh wax-jobs and tire-sidewalls still wet from all the ArmorAll, that only go "off road" on flat dirt roads one or two times a year. We dont associate with those kinds.
  5. It is very extremely manly!
  6. I only use CHIRP if i am adding a BUNCH of stuff, or i need to do something that can't be done directly on the radio because 1) i like to do it the manly way and 2) things like Tone and TSquelch are confusing.. You can put your radio on the correct Repeater-Channel, hit the menu button, select the CTCSS or DCT/DPL/DCS tone and save it, all faster than it takes your computer to boot up. It should literally take no more than 15-20 seconds to program a repeater on a GMRS radio.. 30 seconds if you are fancy and add the optional RX tone.
  7. Jeepers are weird.
  8. All GMRS repeaters have a +5 offset from the receive frequency. So if the RX frequency is 462.575, the transmit (TX) will be 467.575. (the receive frequency always starts with 462, the transmit frequency always starts with 467) BUT - if you are using a GMRS radio, you dont need to worry about, or even think about that. Just find the correct pre-programmed "Repeater Channel" on the radio and enter the TRANSMIT (TX) tone.. You dont need the Receive (RX) tone for now because it is optional and it is only going to confuse you more. Save that for when you know what you're doing. If you are trying to do this on a non-GMRS radio, aka a H.A.M.s radios, then you bought the wrong radio.
  9. Somewhere on Youtube there is a video of some weird guy submerging a UV-5R in the toilet, freezing it and running it over with his very-manly Jeep... The screen cracked when the extremely-manly Jeep ran it over, but the radio still worked just fine.
  10. It is not available for GMRS..
  11. Am I the only one thinking it's weird/irrational that the OP expects warranty support from a vender when the product is no longer under warranty and will angrily boycott that vender when denied free out-of-warranty support? or, maybe i'm just missing something?
  12. Ok, let us know what those other options are for getting a new KG-1000G or KG-935G.. or 805G ....
  13. If I recall correctly, you have to do it in the software.
  14. You only going to buy radios with forever-long warranties from now on? Also: have you checked to see of any other custom settings change or get lost?
  15. No. There are no regulations or rules against a software company making software that can be used for among many other things, linking repeaters. It is the radio operator's responsibility to not violate the rules. Zello began deprecating the desktop version years ago when they stopped updating it and removed the direct-links to the download from their website.
  16. Devin, that is not a very helpful answer is it?
  17. Well now you're just being mean!
  18. You forgot that BEFORE that, in almost all (99%?) cases they first send a nasty letter asking you to stop. You also left out that his current NAL details his previous 1999 NAL ("fine") and states that he has still never paid that one.
  19. You shouldn't post his callsign because now people can very easily go to this link: FCC License Lookup and find his full name and address via the publicly available FCC license information. But he probably doesn't mind if everyone looks up his full legal name and address because we know he read all the rules and regulations before he signed up for his license - because that's the number-one stupid thing he obsessively repeats in his posts to other people. So he obviously knows all of his information is free for anyone to look up.
  20. His stupidity and the stupid shit he says far outweighs the tiny nuggets of correctness that he randomly shits out.. and he has never said anything that 100 others here in the forum could not also tell you. ...just sayin...
  21. You can still see what that guys posts? Man, you gotta jump on the "block that moron" train!
  22. I hope you're feeling better now. What you are describing is not an intended behavior, and it looks like you have done everything correctly. I do believe that only BuyTwoWayRadios Support can help you - and if its some kind of firmware issue baked into the radio they may not have a fix - but they can probably recommend a workaround like manually programming the channel without the Wizard and/or using the software to program the channel (if you haven't tried that already).
