  1. I don't know if it will help you, but BTWR website has manual for the new upcoming KG-905G HT. Manual for this new radio shows how to scan group (page 35). Here is the link: https://www.buytwowayradios.com/downloads/dl/file/id/1428/product/5340/wouxun_kg_905g_owners_manual.pdf
  2. So, the moral of my story: DO NOT USE CHIRP for Wouxun KG-805G with 816 profile because it is very easy to brick your 805G radio. CHIRP does not have 805G profile, and with 816 profile it does not support global settings. Factory Wouxun software for 805G looks like from Windows 95 era, but at least it works without problems.
  3. I just tried that. Frequencies are correct. There is no factory reset in the menu of 805G radio like BTECH GMRS-V1 has.
  4. Wouxun KG-805G Stopped RX-ing/TX-ing after using CHIRP. Hi everybody, I received my Wouxun KG-805G three days ago from BuyTwoWayRadios.com. It is a great small radio. Sound quality is great. I downloaded and installed Wouxun factory software and programmed the radio. Everything was working fine. Then yesterday, after reading multiple posts on this forum where some people said that they used CHIRP and 816 profile to program 805G, I tried to do that. After uploading file from CHIRP to 805G this happened: All voice commands switched to Chinese language. Radio stopped transmitting and receiving. Display shows that it transmits, but my GMRS-V1 doesn’t get any signal on the same channel. And when I transmit from V1, 805G does not get anything. Then I used factory software and their default codeplug file to restore 805G, but it did not help. I called BuyTwoWayRadios.com customer services and described everything. They said that this was problem between CHIRP and 805G, and that this was not warrantable. I search Internet and found post from October 2020 in this thread: https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/wouxun-kg-805g.414204/ Quote from that thread: It looks like I am stuck with $80 brick. Any suggestion appreciated.
  5. My question is what is the difference between Nagoya 701G and Nagoya 701C, which is sold on this site? https://shop.mygmrs.com/collections/antennas/products/nagoya-na-701c-antenna
  6. May be your Apple USB-C to USB adapter is the culprit and does not pass all the data that CHIRP needs?
  7. Does your CHIRP on your MacBook see virtual COM port? Check this page for different Mac OS drivers: https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/
  8. It is possible that it may be the issue with your USB cable. What USB cable did you buy and where? Did your MacBook OS recognize the cable and install driver? I bought my first USB cable to use with CHIRP from Amazon. When I plugged it in Windows 10 didn't recognize the cable and didn't install the driver. I had to hunt Internet for the driver. The second USB cable I bought was BTECH PC-03 FTDI Genuine USB Programming Cable from this MyGRMS site. Windows 10 recognized that cable and installed driver automatically
  9. АВТОСМЕРТЬ, Description on Amazon product page says: "Quad-watch - monitor 4 frequencies". So, with your two units you should be able to monitor 8 frequencies. Correct? https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61AwK09-OCL._AC_SL1489_.jpg
  10. Michael, Thank you for valuable information. I guess my next HT will not be BTECH (or Midland) because I was pulling my hair wondering why I couldn't transmit after I saved settings in blank channels in my GMRS-V1 using CHIRP.
  11. I assume you are using CHIRP software. YES? I also assume you are saving information into the blank channel. YES? I had the same issue with CHIRP and my BTECH GMRS-V1 when programming the repeater and saving data into the blank channel - radio would not save the "+" in the duplex column. Then I decided to edit data for one of those pre-programmed channels: 23 - 30 (REPT15 - REPT22). After playing with this several times I was able to edit and save data in channel 24 (REPT16) and keep + in the duplex column.
  12. Would you be so kind to list some of those, please?
  13. Or just delete forums. to leave https://mygmrs.com if you are on the forum's main page. And there is no link to the mygmrs site from the forum.
  14. You are SOL regarding linking image from Flickr. They use some JavaScript programming to hide URL of actual image. What you can do is download that image from Flickr, sign up with free image hosting site, upload image there, get URL, and then embed that image into your post here. I use that site: https://postimages.org Here is image from my storage from that site:
  15. When you reply to the thread you should have the toolbar with a bunch of buttons above composition window. You can use circled button to link to images on Internet and this way they will display directly in your post. See attached image 001. Here is an example: And you should see buttons below you composition windows that you can use to attach files to your post. See attached image 002
  16. I am having exactly same issues (bold and red in the quote) with BTECH GMRS-V1 and CHIRP software. Any help from gurus on this forum would be great.
  17. I am new here too, and new to the radio world, and this is my first post here. Name is Alex. Have GMRS license and my call sign is WRAE802. Hope to get more knowledge about radio on this great forum.
