Hi Josh, Please check the format of the callsign. It must be 4 letters and only 3 digits. You probably have an I not the number one.

Currently, only one account can be created per GMRS callsign as a security measure to prevent multiple random people from trying to register the same callsign. This works fine for families where one member is the coordinator of the communications, but I know it isn't ideal when multiple people have an interest in participating independently. I was thinking about changing the user accounts on this website to allow a single "main account" per callsign. The account holder can then create multiple subaccounts sharing the same callsign: this way, the account holder/licensee controls who may share their license regarding a myGMRS account and we prevent the issue of random people trying to claim a callsign over and over again. Imagine how many people would try to claim mine, for example. What does everyone think about that?

We update the database daily, but the FCC data we have access to is typically 1-2 days behind the FCC website, unfortunately.

myGMRS Network Shutting Down August 28th, 2024

Alright, I think this topic has run its course... -
Recently, the FCC has clarified its interpretation of the GMRS rules regarding repeater linking by stating that linked repeaters are against the rules. For years, the Part 95 rules have been unclear about whether repeater linking falls under Remote Control, Interconnection, or something else entirely. FCC Clarification (Click the Operations tab) A GMRS user asked the Commission for clarification several years ago and received a response that it was indeed allowed. This letter had been posted online. Given that decision and the nebulous state of the Part 95 rules, we have operated under the assumption that this was permitted. While this clarification is not binding and does not update the actual Part 95 rules, it shows that the FCC is against repeater linking and at least intends for it to be prohibited. Given this new information, it is in our best interest to begin shutting down the myGMRS Network, which allows repeater owners to link using VoIP technology over the Internet. We will shut down the myGMRS registration server in one week, on August 28th, 2024. The main myGMRS website will not be affected and will continue to serve the GMRS community as it has for nearly 20 years. Connections between repeaters or audio are not carried through our servers; only the registration server is used to keep a listing of which nodes are online at any given time. Disabling the registration server will not break the connection to existing nodes; it will only prevent new connections from occurring. Repeater owners who continue using VoIP or other means to link repeaters together will do so at their own risk. myGMRS is committed to operating within the FCC rules and aims to maintain a positive rapport with the Commission. Should the Commission's stance change, we will reconsider whether to bring the network back at that time. If you wish to sign, there is a Change.org petition to request that the FCC allow network connections. Change.org Petition to Allow GMRS Linking

You are entering an invalid callsign. This is not an issue with the website. WSC1776 is not in the right format. It must be 4 letters and 3 digits for recent callsigns. Please double check your callsign. A good truck is to try and find your license on the FCC website. If you can't find it there, you have it wrong.

For the time being we only support Stripe as a payment processor for credit and debit cards. PayPal is supported for making club payments and receiving payouts if you're a paid club owner, but that's because it's a separate system. Since all payment details are handled by Stripe directly, we don't store your card information in our system. Stripe is the leading payment processor and powers many credit card payment platforms including Shopify stores, like our online shop. This is the most secure method to handle payments in a PCI-compliant way.

You have to delete the repeater. Adding a listing to the database makes you the owner, and requests will go to you. If you are NOT the owner, do not list the repeater without the owner's consent. Remove it from the "Owned Repeaters" tab of this page: https://mygmrs.com/profile/repeaters

Honestly, I'd be surprised if this got FCC approval. Actually, scratch that, the RT10 got FCC approval and I'm confident that is not legal for 900 MHz at 1W as license-free DMR. Pretty sure that squeaked by and so might this little gem.

Meshtastic also supports voice using Codec 2 on LoRa but only on 2.4 GHz radios due to the bandwidth constraints. That's what makes audio on UHF interesting. https://meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/module/audio/
-
The little "repeater" is also interesting, and solar charging capable with a built-in battery backup. https://www.retevis.com/rb91-direct-frequency-digital-repeater-with-2pcs-rb24-uhf-handheld-radio-us

Well that's interesting, it claims to be a LoRa radio in the UHF spectrum with 5W of power.

They are skipped during scan by default since there's no output tone. Any activity on the channel will cause the scan to stop and what you're hearing may or may not be that repeater anyway. This way, if you get the tone information, you already have the channel programmed, you can set up the tones and add to the scan list, and you're off to the races.

I've been tinkering with these as well over the last month. Just driving around with the antenna inside the car I got 1.9 miles through dense suburban terrain. I've had a full conversation with someone about 1.5 miles away with the antenna inside the house near a window. It doesn't appear to be busy here in NJ, but I do see a couple nodes pop up here and there. Thinking about attaching a node to a drone and getting it 400 ft up for about half an hour and see what I get. I also set up an MQTT server for linking my mesh with my father who is about 25 miles north of me, and that works well also. You can't really use the public MQTT server because it will completely flood your mesh and probably lock up your devices from all the traffic, so be careful with that. If anyone is interested I can create a channel on the server to tinker around with.

I'm listening on Chrome on Windows right now to 169 Midwest Hub, and it's working fine.

When gaps occur in the FCC database files, you won't show up until the following Sunday's full database update. The FCC publishes a weekly full database file, and then during the week they publish the new and updated licenses incrementally (known as deltas). If their system doesn't generate a daily file and your callsign would have been in that day's file, you won't appear in the next daily file -- you'd show up in the next weekly full database file. It's a pretty antiquated system, but it works most of the time. The biggest issue is waiting until the next day for us to learn about new licenses. The FCC created an API that allows live lookups, but it's painfully slow and practically unusable. It's easier to download the database updates and host the data in-house.

This feature already exists on the Reports page for Premium Members. The reason for making this a premium feature is that 95% of this website is free to everyone, but our operating costs are a major factor in being able to continue to provide for the community. The information is freely available but if you'd like the extra convenience of integration with other services then we charge a small fee which gives you additional perks like no ads, Classifieds access, and the ability to list a GMRS club.
