  1. Yes, we’ve discussed Reverse here before and customarily. It is a ham radio feature. On my radioddity DB 20 – G, it only becomes available after one “unlock“ the radio. it is a handy feature when hunting down repeaters
  2. Wow: you like the KG-935 so much you got a GMRS Vanity call about it! ?
  3. Ah, you don't often find a "Reverse" function on GMRS radios. Mostly they use a function that converts to simplex on the repeater output channel, whereas Reverse will have you listen to the input and if you choose to, transmit on the output.
  4. If a repeater is installed for themselves only and are all removed from this site, are they really repeaters?!? ? PS: Thank you Rich!!! ?
  5. 1) That is because of "desense" - the transmission of radio 1 blocks out the reception by radio 2 even though they are on different frequencies; 3) Maybe a different 725 repeater? 31 and 32 are set for offbeat frequency shifts; otherwise it looks good (there is no GMRS 467.52500 channel)!
  6. That might be due to increased propogation over the waters of the Gulf. There are posts here about radios near Chicago making it up over Lake Michigan to Wisconsin repeaters many many fars away!
  7. Snaps for doing your research (studying this Forum for helpful posts)! ? In any event you make a reasonable point that is the exception to the 5 MHz UP rule (if there even is one; it is certainly the custom and some GMRS radios cannot do a different split). I don't have any experience with the Btech 50X1 Mobile, but apparently it is one of those fixed 5 MHz GMRS radios, unless perhaps an updated firmware changed it, as @wayoverthererecently pointed out. Of course the downside is that using a different input GMRS input frequency, is possible interference to another GMRS repeater on that different input frequency, especially in an urban area such as Tampa.
  8. Yes and next time I am in Tampa, I can change the offset away from 5 MHz to avoid those boats! ?
  9. Welcome to myGMRS! I just obtain the Memorial Park 725 tones from their website, like you. It would be xxxN. Leave off the RX tone for now. What radio are you using? What is "my other radio?" Maybe it is a "desense" problem where the two radios are too close to each other; try more distance between the two (although it works for Conroe). If an HT or mobile, can you take a drive closer?
  10. It was a fun intellectual exercise in any event...
  11. I can't remember what I had for dinner last night and you are chiding me for a post I made in December 2021?!? ? Governor Desantis sets his own rules...
  12. Except that in my experimentation, the Retevis Ra-25 codeplug software will not accept code plugs for the Anytone/Radioddity. Of course: Good thinking!
  13. Steve: Following the colored wires coming out of your Mic; here is the other end of the cable: And you clearly can see Red, Brown, Yellow from the top end and... I think it is two spaces then White and then a space and then Grey; leaving Black out, or am I missing Black? That could be a braid just before White and perhaps Black is stripped to just leave the braid connected. Now compare that to the Ailunce pin-out and it looks like they could match, depending upon polarity of up/down.
  14. I'd be mildly surprised if a straight through cable would work. I sent out a comment to a YouTuber who discusses an extension cord to this model using of course a male/female RJ-45 cable. Perhaps he has gone into the radio and determined the pin-out as well. Here is some Miklor tech data for microphone and USB cable pin-outs, but the AT-779UV is specifically mentioned here; although Miklor does separately review that model: https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Technical.php#spkrmic What is the source of that cable pinout you posted? That's the SM01? Hopefully Radioddity will be more helpful.
  15. I think he was referring to his BTech DMR 6x2, which of course needs a Ham License to operate DMR: He hasn't been back since November 11th; I hope he gives the Ham test another try and in any event, gets active in GMRS and returns.
  16. I'll do some research, but may I see the SM01/FP01 pinout please? Which of these four cables do you have:
  17. Looks nice; thank you for the advice. I actually do not see any need for DMR in my vehicle. I have the Radioddity RD-5R connected to my Comet 333 at home via a Delta A-B-C-D switch and being a member of the local PAPA Amateur Radio club, I have access to at least two local DMR repeaters. I think that DMR would just be too distracting for me while driving. On that note it took me 60 years to put the Radioddity DB20-G into my car with a cup-holder mount and mag-mount, since it is easy to scan and operate.
  18. So the question becomes, for me at least, is it worth all this extra expense to go from 20/18 watts to 50? I am blessed, at home, to have wonderful propagation from the 2nd story antennas on my roof. I seem to have a "tunnel" over the Cahuenga Pass that even allowed me to watch PBS Inland Empire channels 24.1 - 24.4 from the old TV antenna on my roof, that I had rewired (until one day it suddenly disappeared and after I called the station, they told me they moved their transmission antenna). My reach on both GMRS and 2 meters and 70 cms in all directions is very satisfying now for my simplex and repeater needs. I was recently introduced to the Cummings Mountain 440 repeater, which I am told will now give me coverage up to Fresno!
  19. Thank you; that is good to know. I always thought that MARS/CAP was just beyond the end of the Amateur Radio 2 meter band, I did not realize how far these mods would extend; especially on 440 MHz.
  20. Does your Mac version of CHIRP work with any other radios in the past? Have you read this article and the comments below it? Is GMRS legal in Italy?
  21. *These units are for industrial, scientific, medical, or export use only. It is a violation of US FCC regulations to operate these units on the Citizens Band or Amateur Radio Services in the United States. Please check regulations in your country before operating these unit. Maybe TWO WATTS? ?
  22. A WINNER!!!! Welcome to the club of DB20-G LOVERS! But, as of December 9th, CHIRP does not work with the DB-20G (although CHIRP does work on the unrelated DB-25G). Are you giving us New CHIRP news?!?
  23. So much for your ability to be able to "open up" your Wouxun for Technician use.
