  1. That means to not share their Tones. Do any of these look familiar?
  2. I thought the point of Midland is "plug and play" because quite honestly, reading all these threads about these radios leaves me at a loss to understand why anyone would buy one, other than: "Instant GMRS: just add hot water!" That being said, "those people" who will then use Midlands, will never understand or be able to conquer the niceties of COM ports let alone programming software!!
  3. It never hurts, when asking for help, to give all the useful information, including the PL and DPL numbers they sent you. You could even bore us with the name of the repeater, its location and frequency, too! ?
  4. Really?!? If the coverage footprints of the two repeaters generate that much interference based upon the ability of the signals on the inputs, with or without PLs, to cause interference to the other repeaters, you have a problem that adding a PL will not solve! Let us not forget that with two repeaters on the same frequency with massive overlapping coverage; once the squelch is opened by the signal with the proper PL, it will "hear" the other transmissions on the same input frequency, subject only to the "capture effect" for FM.
  5. Which State and zip code are you?
  6. Which freqs come up as "Frequency is wrong?"
  7. Apparently the Ra-25 will only work with the Retevis programming software and cannot use either the Radioddity or Anytone software. But you should be able to modify the Tones in the Retevis software: Are you double clicking on the >> in the More column for the particular Channel that you want to edit the Tone?
  8. This is a new topic for me: could you please explain to me how someone else using foul language on his son's FRS radio puts your FCC licenses at risk?!?
  9. Same thought: Lookup KC9HIJ on QRZ or FCC and send him a message.
  10. Send a message here on myGMRS to @6040and ask him.
  11. Open the sucker and get 500 transmissible Channels!! ?
  12. My recollection is that when it is in the "GMRS" mode that comes from the factory, there are only a limited number of programming channels that will allow alternate CTCSS and/or DCS tones and still transmit: Channels 1-22 can only transmit simplex; Channels 23-40 can only transmit with the +5 MHz offset already factory set (so not simplex). Channels 41 through 500 cannot transmit. If you do this, you can "open your DB-20G" to transmit as you want to program (remember the FCC rules for frequency and power output as well as narrow vs. wideband), as well as find out your firmware version: Turn off Hold down V/M key Turn on Write down Firmware version listed on the bottom line. If you want to "open" your DB-20G, do this: Using the Up and Down Keys, change the Mode from GMRS to: (136-174) (400-470) Now turn off. ----------------------------------- You can also accomplish this in the Radioddity programming software by clicking Model -> Model Information:
  13. No! Don’t do it!!! Elon Musk is going to buy myGMRS and reactivate Trump’s account!?!?
  14. Many states have laws against gouging essential items when there are shortages. I don't think a Raspberry Pi qualifies as essential.
  15. Yes, amazingly the TID Bluetooth programmer does not support the TID TD-H5: I have complained to them about this more than once, as I have the clone Pofung P15UV. You might try this, from the Pofung manual, as a menu shortcut to reset the radio: Of course, if it is frozen; you might have to try this using the software and a programming cable.
  16. Anytone obviously believes these are alternate facts! ? (with apologies to Kelly Ann Conway; well known GMRS jammer in her spare time ?)
  17. At the same time?!? ?
  18. Is that the Anderson 625 repeater?
  19. He still has not identified his radio, but if it is an FCC certified GMRS radio, my understanding is that the manual designation of "+" and "5.000" is neither required nor subject to change on those radios in CHIRP, as shown by the example I posted for the BTECH GMRS V-1.
  20. Not that you asked, but, remember when you want to talk directly from one HT to another HT (and not through the repeater), change their channels from 29 to a common channel between 1-7.
  21. What radio are you using? Both the Issaquash and East Tiger Repeaters are about 70 miles from you and although you can hear it, you are probably too far to hit the repeater. Take a drive nearer to the repeater with your HT and try again! Mason Benson at Mason Lake: 462.650 tone in - 123.0; tone out - 100.0; is much closer to you
  22. Not surprising: .dat files are generic and have no predefined structure. So one particular software's .dat file will probably have no connection to anothers.
  23. Thanks for that update: I found it on the Radioddity Downloads page.
  24. I suppose that workaround is true for any radio. For me purchasing a $30 HT with tone scanning solved that problem!
